Orvis Amersham

I have shopped at their shops in Ludlow, Burford and now in Amersham. The service these guys provide is exceptional. I had an issue which wasn't straight forward to resolve, but Sam in the Amersham and Mary in Burford were brilliant. Sincere thanks.

Good selection of outdoor wear and some great sale items. Some is overpriced and if you want a Barbour jacket for your pooch then you can get it here! Good fishing section but I don't fish so can't comment on quality but rods from about £200 -£800

A lovely traditional looking shop. It's full of nice quality clothes, especially for casual and outdoor pursuits. Orvis is an American company and they sell their own clothing. American clothing is normally of robust high quality and generous in size. They are also agents for British brand Barbour.
It also sells pet stuff, mostly for dogs.
My main interest in this shop is their fly fishing section. Orvis tackle (of their own design and manufacture) is top notch and the equal to Hardy, with high prices to match. I have added some pictures to the Photos tab to show the fishing tackle room.
The shop is located in Amersham old town High Street, where you can still park the car. Getting a road side space near the shop is difficult though, with no designated disabled bays that I'm aware of.
The 4 out of 5 star rating is due to the parking problem as I see it.

Didn't have the item I went there for. Bought an accessory for a Barbour jacket. Wrong colour and they don't stock the correct colour item. A bit underwhelming.

Love this place for doggie stuff. Very friendly staff and one of the places dogs are very welcome. Great big beds for big pooches.

Quilted vest is a poor product, defective zip, made in China, overpriced and sizing smaller than described. Orvis can do better than this. In fairness, other product bought was of excellent quality, sized to fit and just as expected.

Not impressed, I took Orvice defective line back for the 2nd time. When I said that I didn't want Orvis line again and I wasn't a better brand. Well the only one they had was more expensive and they expected me to pay the difference! It was only a couple of pounds, but I felt that in good customer relations they would have swallowed it! But not to be, regardless of the fact that it was my 2nd visit ( petrol time etc..) and a lost fish owing to the line breaking.
