I do expect more from a Costa. The lady serving did not know how to make a tea and had to be corrected numerous times by her friendly colleague who was also trying to serve customers, he was exceptionally patient and professional. It as very frustrating as she kept messing up two cups of tea. The place was too hot inside , the spoons with our teas had encrusted debris on them (photo attached). Dusty pictures at head height that have not been clean for ages + again see picture) tables were not cleared in a timely manner as tables still had loads of stuff on them when we entered and left and not been touched. We went to another place after rather than stay to have a bite to eat as it was so bad here. I do expect a lot more from this place.

It was raining heavily outside and my 5 year old an I had just missed our rail replacement bus service. We were desperately looking for some shelter when I saw an open Costa. In sheer relief I entered suprised at the fact that it clearly said on the door "Sunday 18:30pm" closing time. We had arrived at 17:58pm. I was greeted by a rude female member of staff who seemed very annoyed that we had arrived ( probably annoyed that I had interrupted her phone call as she seemed to be on the phone) stating she was closed so i questioned the time on the door. She then said she is on her own referring to her work load. I simply would've only been 10 mins the store was due to close in 30mins anyway. Agitated and not willingly wanting to she said with exasperation. "Well what is it that you wanted?" After hearing her tone I left, there was no way I could even sit in there after her reception. From an ex lone shift worker to another, no matter how heavy your work load is you can still have some professionalism or a heart at least. Luckily we spotted a lovely dessert parlour next door and went there instead. I visited on Sunday 16th October 2022 @17:58pm

Come here to work during my lunch on a regular basis now and staff are always very welcoming. And service is usually very quick.

Simiya and Florinela are both lovely! They are very attentive and polite staff, who made my drink with care and at the perfect drinking temperature!

Staff were incredible and so welcoming. Manager is an absolute legend and Flori makes the best cortado. Finally got a perfect cup of coffee!!

Great staff and customer service. 2 dairy allergies in the family, they were very helpful checking the allergy lists for hot chocolate and dusting powder.

Popped in for a quick coffee which I as lukewarm, some tables not cleaned, lots of flies, slow service, server dropped the food tongs on the floor, picked them up and put them on the side. Very disappointed, won’t be going there again

What a day! I had chocolates gifted to me by a kind man and the service was that i would expect in the ritz or benihana! I hope you pay this top notch public house a visit and get some chocolates pelted at you and your kin! I must reiterate, WHAT... A... DAY...
