Not sure that I like the main room being turned into a child's play area. Very noisy and difficult to hold a conversation. There wasn't any space in the small room. There wasn't the nice cakes that used to be served there

This was my first time at base camp, we went for the Easter egg hunt which was great fun for the kids. The play park there is superb ! Love the tree house/slide and the sand pit! Could have stayed there for hours.
The food and drinks are reasonably priced and the staff are extremely kind and friendly.

What a great place! A real hidden gem, if you have a few hours to entertain little ones and fancy a bite to eat or a coffee and a chat. My grandaughter and I were ladies what lunch 😂 Great outdoor, woodland play centre (beware, there's play sand 😉), indoor toys and library with comfy sofas. The food (and ice creams) are reasonably priced and the staff friendly and polite. Plenty of tables inside and outside. Can't fault it. Don't forget to buy a cheap book by way of contribution to the Royal British Legion Charity.

Always a very relaxing environment with lovely food which is cooked fresh to order and staff always friendly and attentive. Other customers always friendly and love to have a chat. Overall a very friendly, warm and welcoming place which I visit frequently and have taken many people to who also always enjoy their visit. Definitely a place worth visiting. A great outdoor children’s area too for people with children

The cafe is now run by Sweet Sensations, who make and serve the best cakes and treats!! The staff are friendly and accommodating. Inside the cafe there is a small kids play area making it ideal for little ones, even on a wet day.
Definitely recommend a visit!!

Very nice loved the big room with the sofas. Disappointed they had run out of cheese and bacon puffs but I coped.

We really enjoyed our visit to Basecamp. The food was tasty and fresh and was reasonably priced. Picnic box lunchtime option for children was great value. The adjacent play area for children is brilliant, it's great to sit outside and be able to watch them play. More seating outside would be a bonus on hot days.
