With the abundance of commercialised coffee shops in Caterham, it's so nice to visit somewhere a little different and unique in the local area. The food is superb and all locally sourced, coffee is nice and smooth and not bitter, and you can genuinely see that the owners take real pride in their business. The place is lovely and clean, loads of different food and breads to try and buy ... and I've heard well-behaved dogs are also welcome.

I’ve been living in the area for 3 years and always drove past it without noticing it much, but we finally managed to go there (been there twice now) and had a really good breakfast both times. Good quality ingredients and very good coffee too. I highly recommend it and I’ll def be back.

I went here to refil my vinegar bottle unfortunately , I forgot.
Purchased vinegar ordered an espresso and asked for a little jug of hot water .
Got charged £2.35 for hot water!!
When I queried this the shop assistant said that I always do this and that it costs money to boil a kettle!!! This was the first time I have ordered a coffee here. I have purchased goods but this was my first experience of cafe here and I would not have minded had the woman said we charge for hot water first, then at that price I would have refused. What should have been a relaxing pleasent break just left a sour experience. Very expensive and most unpleasant.

Update and Response:
Appreciate the £1.70 refunded back to me today, but to clarify I ordered a espresso and I was served an espresso in a small cup and I have not been fully refunded for the water at £2.35. Petty to be saying this but also petty to be charged for this, more so it was the curt responses and impoliteness that came with querying this which was not appreciated and would frustrate any customers.

So my story started about 3 weeks ago - I had to buy some lunch for the wife and I, before going on holiday the next day. We were up on the hill and I popped into a bakery but couldn’t find anything I wanted. So I remember driving passed East Side everyday on my way to work. Always wanting to try it out.
Oh my goodness - I’m SO pleased I did, the sandwiches which we had (bronx!) truly are amazing! The staff are super helpful and always happy to help in any way they can.
Couldn’t wait to try again on our return from holiday and once again I’m happy to report that it’s still my favourite place for lunch.
Ps - the iced latte coffee is also a hit for me.
Well done for a great shopping experience will be back soon.
Thank you.

I recently enjoyed lunch with friends at East Side. My salad was delicious with a huge amount of really lovely mozzarella. I was most envious of my friend's panini, which looked so good, but I can't eat for dietary reasons, and I have to say the decaf coffee here is the best I've ever tasted. There's lots to browse inside the shop ranging from eco friendly cleaning materials to cushions and throws. Well worth a look!

This place has a wonderful mix of foods and products, a deli which wouldn't be out of place in Soho. Has everything from homemade wooden trugs, French camembert logoed serving plates oven gloves with bee motifs, garden planters in galvanised iron. A host of hampers etc etc..

Consistently excellent coffee and grub. A genuine step-up in quality for Caterham which hopefully inspires more of the same from other independent businesses in the area
