Stopped for waffles while walking the Cuthberts Way, and oh my word! The best food we'd eaten in... forever. To die for waffles, flavoursome and well balanced coffee, creamy and delightful ice-cream and a beautiful setting. Children were happily digging in the sandpit, water for dogs and shelter from the Scottish weather. Toilets could be improved, but that's someone else's responsibility. This place is worth a visit on its own, but the large playground nearby, plus the stunningly beautiful woodland walks nearby are worth a journey from a distance. Well recommended.

Great find in the middle of "nowhere" amazing waffles and savory pitas. They even had bog biscuits wich our old boy loved. It has perfect location for hikers and casual walkers. If you visit order atheist 1 savory and 1 sweet you won't regret it. We live few hrs away but we are planning on coming back.

The new cafe at Harestanes is lovely, what a great job of renovating it and the log burner was so nice on a cold wet day. The food was all delicious but for us, the menu that worked well as a take away across the courtyard could be a bit better for a sit down cafe. For example the lovely soup doesn't come with bread, my kids only wanted that but needed something to dip in, and the pittas come with nothing, a bit of salad and crisps would make a proper meal. Everything is very reasonable, too cheap compared to most other places, with just a couple of changes they could charge much more😊

We tried the savoury waffles today-awesome! The new bigger cafe has a nice cosy atmosphere and was a great spot to take our puppy on his first trip out. Highly recommended

Normally good, but was recently disappointed to arrive 30 minutes before posted closing time to be somewhat flatly advised that takeaway drinks were not available, having rushed to get there in time.

The cafe otherwise has a good approach to minimising food waste, and strives to be sustainable, although alternatives to the posted menu (such as requesting bread with soup) are also not accommodated.

Excellent waffles.

What a find, a lovely friendly atmosphere and a huge log burner to keep us warm at this time of year. One of the best coffees I've had in the Borders and a great soup and stuffed pitta for a very reasonable price. My partner had a simply enormous pile of lovely gluten free waffles. It's a great location as there any number of walks from the car park at Harestanes and this comes as welcome reward at the end.

Lovely cafe. Really warm welcome and very interesting menu. We ordered things you don't see anywhere else and they were excellent. Hope it does a roaring trade.

Stopped in for some hot chocolate and a desert to share (waffles). Nicely decked out place, tastefully decorated. Fast friendly service and dog friendly
