Stable View

A lovely place with friendly service far away enough from the busy road to feel the country atmosphere! 💚 However, I must highlight that the potential of the place itself is not enough - we ordered 2x Fruit Scones which were quite dry, stale, served cold and with pre-made clotted cream. We were expecting something more of a local produce, high quality and served "fresh" on a beautiful sunny Sunday morning...

Or was it not a good choice? Nevertheless, as a fan of scones, I feel somewhat disappointed 😟

The food was good and the views matched the food, even though it's a bit off the beaten track it's well worth a visit, just to sit back and take in the countryside in a quiet peaceful place, busy but not overly busy.. Her indoors loved it and as I always say " happy wife is a happy life", well most of the time anyway .

The mark of a good place is when you immediately start thinking who else you can take there or which of your loved ones would like it. We did that. You can't see Stable View from the road so it's a nice surprise when you get there, a lovely building with a great view. The staff were superb, very friendly and efficient and a major selling point. Top that with fantastic food and drink and you can't lose. The sausages are enormous and as good as they look. Good prices and the nice atmosphere of a place that's full of content people is always a winner. An asset to the area and well worth a visit.
One minor thing was we could not follow the map on the website at all. It's a lovely map, but could do with a couple of lines like "go through stile" or "follow yellow waymarks" as nothing is obvious. From Dale Abbey, the only footpath we could find between buildings was by the pub which took us floundering across private land and locked gates. Even heading back to Spondon, we followed the path past the Stable View sign and ended up on a busy main road in Stanley. Maybe it's us. I understand signs along the route are on the way so that'll help us with the map.

We visited here after a local walk to Hopwell Hall Farm. I had the blueberry thriller smoothie, which was absolutely packed with fresh fruit, a lovely surprise of chunks of banana in the bottom. Other drinks were the mango, pineapple & pashminas smoothie & a pot of tea.

For food we had two cheese & bean jacket potatoes, both which Im told were spot on. I had ploughman’s special, just a couple of changes are my personal opinion to swap the sausage roll for a pork pie & add Branson pickle or some sort of chutney.

The staff were all very welcoming & really helpful. The venue looked very clean, large amount of seating both inside & out, with even a separate private area for events/parties.

I had a delicious vegan ploughman's lunch at Stable View! Our server was attentive and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. My friend had the Mediterranean tuna jaked potato and also said it was delicious! Thank you for a lovely lunch Stable View!

Had a pot of tea and an ice cream . Both are very nice.
Good place to go for afternoon tea.

Recommended to try here and so glad we did. Booked it for our daughters 17th for a gathering for Bruce outside lol. Food was perfect, staff very attentive. I Think we tried everything on the breakfast menu between us all. The bill was surprising too excellent value. Thanks to all the staff for making it a perfect day. 👍❤

Driving down towards stable view seeing the animals in the picture .. brilliant when you have the grandchildren with you . Well done to all the team on presenting tasty food . This is by far the best place for breakfast
Breakfast is lovely , very filling , delicious . On the Lunch menu They offer homemade quiche which is delicious too this place is always busy. They also do irresistible cakes . Well done to each and everyone of you.
