Farnborough College of Technology

My son went to this college. The communication is poor. They changed his course without telling him until enrolment day. They lie and say they send letters when they don't. The teachers are always late if they even turn up to lectures. You will spend more time at home than at college as there are hardly any lectures. Year 2 timetable said 10 hours of lectures! All I can say is it's a good job we didn't pay for the course! My son didn't pass his course after first year as he didn't pass one assignment and another assignment no-one bothered to mark but no-one bothered to let us know that he couldn't do year 2 until we went up to the college. Engineering is a joke particularly aircraft maintenance and aeronautical engineering. They don't even look at a real plane. My advise is go elsewhere!

Don’t get me wrong this college is a great college. But this online learning is not good at all, with assignments and exams, their is barley any support (with some lecturers) and it’s really frustrating. Really starting to give up now, and I know it isn’t just me because my class had reduced by more than a half from when we started in September 2019 to now

I came to FCOT once to visit while I was choosing a place to study at a few years back now and was very impressed with the great facilities at FCOT on my tour. The staff and students at FCOT are very friendly as well which is a bonus legends! :)

My son attended the college last year on a 2 year engineering course. We found the course to be lacking, especially the leadership and communication from the college. Over the course of the year teachers were often absent and he had 6 tutors. The syllabus looked fantastic but the college didn't deliver. He is now pursuing a different course at a new college.

Go somewhere else. Students and staff are being manipulated. The wrong people in the right place. Because of this there is no integrity. Very dishonest college. Unqualified staff in some subject areas. Very disappointed with this college. Such a shame. Some of the staff look physically depressed and look unhappy. Go at your own risk.

Teachers treat those with special needs the way fernhill would. My friend is visually impaired and the teacher refused to make the text bigger for her and refuses to support. Despite my targets, a number of teachers force me to focus when I have have 'ADHD' which is like telling a paralysed person to move.

This College doesn't even deserve 1 star. It is a bad experience. They are very disorganized too. Our timetables merged and they still haven't given us the new timetable. What's so hard about sending a file to Microsoft Teams will always make me question how lazy the teachers are. Apparently we were told what time but there was no announcement and nothing on Teams so I ended up losing some of my attendance by this disorganized mess of what you call a college. Not doing a Level 3 Business course because I'm not going through this again for another 2 years.
