Deposit Not Returned

Signed a contract for a conservatory in December and paid a £2900 deposit. We were advised no planning permission was required. Following a survey it was discovered planning was needed and we were asked to pay another £500 for planning costs. The planning application came back in March with conditions attached. We didn’t like the changes enforced as this wasn’t what we agreed to when signing the contract so asked to cancel the contract. We were told we are only entitled to a £565.60 refund as the company have incurred sales, marketing and administration costs. We have lost £2834.40 through no fault of our own. We cannot have the specification we paid for and we cannot get our deposit back either. No materials have been ordered and we paid extra for the planning application. Had we have know this was the risk we were entering into when signing the contract we would never have paid over our deposit.

Visited the small showroom today, there was no sales staff expect an elderly man watching an iPad. He clearly wasn’t interested. I asked for an example price and he replied, ‘we don’t give prices we send people over to your house’ I just wanted an example price for what was on show, he continued to say it was expensive and if I wanted a more affordable option??? I replied that I didn’t ask for affordable options I just wanted an example price for what I liked. He didn’t move from his chair or come out to speak to me. How rude to imply you don’t have enough money to buy from them!! To be fair there was only a few poor examples and there is much better places in Nottingham where the customer experience is amazing! Avoid! Considering previous comments it all about to the money for them and sadly not about making customers dream homes a reality!!

Bought a conservatory in April this year! Cannot recommend them enough. Very competitive price wise, very helpful and easy to deal with. And really pleased with the end result!!

Quick and simple went to the showroom in Mapperley Plains we spoke to a gentleman who was very helpful gave us a brochure organised for a rep to come and see us, he came within 5 days we ordered and paid a deposit the surveyor made an appointment to check things over 5 weeks later the installation team (Kev & Kev) arrived did a very good job of installing our veranda including thoroughly sweeping the area of any debris. Excellent a great team effort and very happy customers Thank you Stormclad.
