SPAR Leeds Road Lancashire

This is a standard Spar so it tends to be overpriced, you can get some good offers from time to time and it has a post office counter. The staff are the best thing about this store.

Today I went into the spar to exchange my lottory ticket for a free one. I was asked by the man on the counter if I was purchasing anything else to which I replied no. He then refused to exchange my ticket and said people were coming in all the time to do this. HELLO you offer national lottery as a service. No one else was anywhere near the counter at the time so social distance was not an issue . I told him that was pathetic. You have just lost a customer as I then walked to the spar at the garage where my ticket was exchanged no problem and I didn't have to make another purchase. Sort yourselves out because if this is the kind of service you offer you will only lose more customers.

Saw someone leave so I thought there was only 2 allowed in at a time. So I entered and she had a go at me saying there's now 3 in the shop now. I pointed out that there must have been 3 already in as one had just left. Hers name is Christine and she's the most miserable person I've ever met.

Great shop has a P.O. inside counter aswell and is also a local parcel pickup point for Hermes yodel dad etc.

I'm new in this area and I've never seen such slow service. There was one staff member serving a customer regarding posting. I wanted to post something which was a prepaid label. What was supposed to be a 2 mins job turned into 35 mins! After reaching the counter, the young guy scanned my parcel but refused to charge me for the 2 items I had. He said I've to go to the other till. So, I had to get into the other queue.. Again, the old lady who mostly lives in her own world... was off doing something and was not bothered there is yet another queue forming. Absolutely disgusted, I put the items back and left the store. Absolutely shocking service.

There was a small queue outside due to their new limit of 4 (it was 8 at one point) in the shop at the same time & staff changeover approx 15.15pm but as soon as that happened I was in the warmth of the shop and was served very quick & efficiently by Sarah in the shop who always remembers the two brands of cigarettes I buy & even more efficient was Corey in the Post office. He is by far the most confident & competent employee who works in the post office. I find that the afternoon & night staff are a lot more cheerful & happy than those who work in the morning.
As of 12th Feb the post office will close at 16.50 pm if you're not in the queue for 16.48 you won't get served period!

Very pricey but good for last minute snacks. Not my place to go to for things like that however the price on Capri sun here at the moment beats Asda at time of my review
Furthermore the post office is in the spar for those curious I got confused trying to find it on the map and my friend showed me it.

The postal part of the store isnt the best buy there's more space around you when you go in than in other post offices I've been in. Which I adore. I didn't realise how claustrophobic I could get in a post office until I visited this shop. There's room to breathe.

As a truck stop it's great. Unless you've got a big van or lorry but for cars it's ace. You've got your standard meal deals and last minute roses for your misus or misters but again with Asda around the corner.... With a bigger selection

The staff are reserved but willing to help. Very friendly. Majority of staff are young adults. Store is well maintained. Okay selection of booze. No games. Moderate selection of magazines if you're into that kind of thing. Letter box across the road from here.

As far as spar shops go, this is one of the better ones 💯

Extremely overpriced stock and absolutely disgusting attitude from people who work there. I used to go in daily and overheard one of the women who work there calling me rotten several times.
