I visited the mccolls Elmwood store today (I shop here often). First of all all of the fridges were yet again out of order! They aren't at the correct temperature often either.
I don't usually moan, but today I had a card transaction issue yet again!. There seems to be something wrong with the card machines or bad signal. Now today I had a payment of 18.34 taken out of my available ballance after paying via contact less for my purchases.
Admittedly it is in my pending transactions also.
I actually pointed out to the cashier it still said processing on the card machine. However it did say approved first so I understand why the gentleman said have a good day and was happy for me to leave. But I noticed it went back to the original screen of processing.
The gentleman then said actually its declined... Now there is a difference between failed and declined. So I said I would check my bank. I checked and the payment had been taken!. He asked me to prove this by showing him my online banking which I did.
He then said it will take a day or two to come back into my account. Which is absolutely ludicrous.
He also said if I left with the goods it would be classed as theft.
I didn't leave I just waited to see if it would bounce back to my account and it didn't. 4 hours later, the amount is still not back in my account.
I would of left with my purchases, but a very very kind and understanding gentleman paid the balance for me.
That's what you call kindness, something you're business lacks clearly.
It was embarrassing to stand there and wait, when I first walked into the store both cashiers were also on thier phones so they clearly don't know what good customer service is.
If I borrow money from a bank I get interest. So what gives you're company the right to withhold money for up to two days?.
If you know you're card machines don't work regularly each time. Stop using them. I would of happily got cash out!.
The very kind man that paid for my purchases said he gets regular problems with you're card payments.
