Booked on line only having only seen a description and a couple of photographs. Directions, spot on, arrived late and key left with minimal lights on just to find out way in. Cosy and welcoming the minute we entered with a lovely arrival basket of essentials waiting on the table for us. Very well equipped and quite adequate for our month long stay over Christmas and New year - even minimal Christmas decorations already set up for us. As it is situated on a farm, the only noises were animals and birds with the occasional plane from a nearby airport, so altogether a quiet, relaxing, place friendly with plenty of short or longer walks available depending on your energy level. Loads of history in surrounding areas if you are interested (I am very much so). Not too far from main shopping areas, medical assistance etc if required. Hosts Nicola & Craig very welcoming and friendly but not overbearing, happy to stand and chat if time available (after all it is a working farm) certainly no constant checking and watching to see what you were up to. Altogether a very relaxing and happy stay in the Langton's cottage. On a personal note - When can I move in permanently?

Quiet little bolt hole away from it all yet close enough to local attractions. Everything is there you could possibly need for a short or long stay. The bed is huge and very comfortable.

If you’ve ever dreamed of staying on a traditional farm then Shepards Rest is ideal for you! At the centre of a very attractive village close to local amenities. We have stayed there three times, it’s relaxing, comfortable and super clean, we will certainly return for another visit. Nichola, Craig and family are so welcoming.

Absolutely beautiful rustic farm. The cottage is amazing and they have a little egg shop. They allowed my youth group to camp (who really miss the dog) was really amazing too. Will defo use again. Thank you for a great experience.
