The Avenue Country Park

A good dog friendly walk a few miles south of Chesterfield Town centre to be enjoyed by all. Dogs love to paddle in the stream and run together along the paths and open fields this park has to offer.

I went for a lovely walk with my daughter and grandchildren. The pathways were clear of obstructions and well defined.
There's 2 football pitches marked out, waterways and pond where the waterfowls of the area can gather, great photo opportunities available and even a large Caterpillar for kids to play on. We went on a winter day so wrapped up warm and only went in one direction so we plan on going again to explore some more.
Thoroughly recommend as it's back to nature and enjoyed for free is always a bonus .

Another fabulous dog walk connecting onto near by trails surrounded by country side and lakes. A gavel path from start to finish so ideal for push chairs

For what has been developed at the avenue washlands is awesome. The wildlife is amazing. Just a stunning place. Had a beautiful walk with the pooch & fella around the ponds. Adequate parking in car park.
If I had to pick fault it's the disgusting folk who leave litter and dog poop that ruin it for others.
Defiantly will be going again 👍

Big open spaces. Will look even better when Spring comes. Plenty of bins for dog owners to use...some obviously haven't got the hang of that yet. Good parking. Will enjoy watching this place develop.

Fabulous rural walk created from a large former industrial chemical plant. Superb transformation now the country park has had a few years to mature. Keep your eyes open for the variety of wild and bird life
