Reluctant to even give 1 star because the woman behind the counter was unbelievably rude and unhelpful! Told me my postage was wrong when I’d followed the process online to the letter, and offered no help or assistance. Just shoved my parcel back at me. No wonder with this woman’s lack of charm and customer service she can’t find a team to assist her and open the other sales window. I wonder that she remains in a customer facing role at all if she finds working with the public so awkward. Lighthouse keeping might suit her better!
I’ve trained customer service operatives in the past and if I’d turned out anyone with this level of hostility, disinterest and common or garden rudeness I’d be ashamed! Whoever is in charge of dishing out the franchises ought to think very carefully about their decision!

At 11.15 today I tried to get my old passport posted but the rudeness and unprofessionalism of the woman with fair hair serving was simply unbelievable. When I first came in another customer said they'd been waiting a while and when I asked if anyone was serving said 'no idea'. No sign on the glass and no one responded to our calls for service. Shop appeared empty and completely unattended. Came back fifteen minutes later and someone was serving. When I asked to send an old passport following the guidance for recorded delivery on HMRC's website the woman said that in the post office they knew better and suggested I pay 7.50 for the next delivery up from their advice. I said I was happy to follow the HMRC guidance, thanked her and said I would stick with my decision as she had now stamped the envelope so I'd paid for it. Despite that, she kept going on about it and not accepting that. To move things on I even said I couldn't afford the more expensive payment. She said 'I don't think you understand what I'm telling you,' to which I reacted 'wow'. When I mentioned there had been no one here when she arrived she defensively said 'can't you be allowed to go to the toilet?' I had to leave as she seemed to just want to get into an argument. I'm considering a formal complaint if the document is not sent.

You want to post a parcel, you say? Don’t bother with this branch unless you wish to feel like an inconvenience for daring to approach the Post Office with such a silly idea!

Very rude staff behind the counter who are evidently extremely unhappy with what they do for a living.

Terrible customer service. Absolutely terrible.
Avoid
I will be going out of my way to not use this post office when that horrid lady is in there.

Edit: I put in a formal review and suggest you do the same if you've had a bad time. I sent it ages ago and yet these nasty staff are still getting away with bad behaviour. Go to Royal Mail's website and go for it, you have nothing to lose.

If I could leave -5 I would.
Enter at your own risk. What a rude, miserable old woman. As soon as I walked in there with my 2 young children I could tell we wasn’t wanted there. I was returning 2 parcels and sending 2 others, whilst doing this my little girl was looking at the cards and slightly folded an envelope to which she told me I would have to buy the whole card. I refused as the envelope was hardly damaged. She the told me to take all my parcels, in any other shop this would never be a problem. This is not the first time I’ve encountered rude attitude from her. The haggard woman shows no remorse. This post office needs new staff that understand children are children.

The service is poor at best in this branch but today was a new low. The staff member entered the incorrect postcode and was made aware of this by my daughter but refused to correct the problem as they were closing soon and it was too complicated as we had paid by debit card. When my parcel goes missing I hope I will be compensated properly rather than just being sent a book of stamps again.

I’ve been using this branch for years, I’ve always received help with my parcels when I’ve needed and I’ve always found every staff member very friendly. I post a lot of parcels and I’ve never had an issue.

Such a shame to see this once thriving Post Office rapidly go down hill.

The previous postmaster, Simon and his team were all wonderful, helpful and friendly.

Since the new management has taken over sadly this isn’t the case. It’s now poorly run with rude, unhelpful and disinterested staff. The queue is often long/slow with only one counter open and no apology for the wait. The cards, shelves, stationary and wrapping paper frequently have large empty gaps in stock.

The post office is a hub and vital heart of the community. If you lack customer skills and the motivation why take it on?

After years of supporting this branch I will be taking my business elsewhere. I’m sure many others have already done so. Very sad and disappointing.
