Orford Hill Dental Surgery

Inconvenient experience throughout. Registered with the practice about 3-4 months ago, never got to see a dentist! Extremely understaffed practice due to maternity and holiday, therefore didn’t have appointments that were suitable...shoehorned into an appointment that wasn’t suitable even though they were told as much, “oh I’ll book it for you and you could change it later”(I couldn’t), which hap-hazard shifts and an inability to cancel ahead meant that I couldn’t call in to rearrange (srike 1). On the second occasion work commitments (again) and a morning after a night shift, oversleeping and quite frankly forgetting the appointment meant I was late (my fault strike two and the ban hammer struck me) their policy dictates that they can no-longer see me. Reception went to speak to a dentist, they seemed to not want to talk to me.

This practice doesn’t use text alert or have any sort of online interaction and is very antiquated. If you are a young professional who at this time work rules you this is not the place to go. Their blanket policies and lack of flexibility meant that it was extremely difficult to meet their appointments, it seems to be that they expect that you fit your life to the appointment or else...I’ve gone elsewhere to a dentist that doesn’t do any of those things.

If you have a hectic work life balance and are looking for a dentist don’t register you are wasting your time, stressful & unforgiving is how I’d sum the practice up...

Marta is amazing! Me and my children went for a check up with Marta today. She is so friendly and so thorough! We feel very lucky to have a dentist like Marta. I always find all staff very pleasant. Thank you!

6 years at Orford Hill Dental Surgery with Colin Moolman as my NHS Dentist. Can't praise the service highly enough. Courteous, sensitive and efficient from all the staff. Feel very lucky since NHS places are almost impossible to come by now.

I have been going to this surgery for several years and they have always been great. I recently developed awful toothache .Emma fitted me in very quickly and Colin did a brilliant job in filling and saving my tooth. The staff are always friendly and helpful , I cannot recommend them highly enough. ‘No show’ patients should be ashamed of themselves.

I love this dentist! They are so attentive and efficient, and I always feel like my pain is taken seriously and they follow things up. They are really good at their jobs and I would recommend them to anyone

With this practice for 20+years several changes of ownership. Increasingly poor experiences in last few years. Today will be last time if I can find another NHS dentist. Dentist told me they were very upset and felt I was angry when they moaned about my teeth and I pointed out I do everything asked and had been having problems and specialist attention and even surgery since I was 8. Tried to push me into seeing hygienist even when I said no due to previous bad experiences and said I ought to see a private specialist at possibly £1k per year.. I felt I was being bullied and blackmailed into more procedures and expenses when obviously personal and dental care for past 55 years hasn't been much success. Most unprofessional

My wife encouraged me to move to this surgery a few years ago and I do not regret it. Colin is a first rate dentist and I should know as I have terrible teeth and have had several different dentists in my time. He has a very calm disposition and is softly spoken. This surgery is conveniently close to car parks and the bus station in central Norwich and I have never waited more than a couple of minutes. At my previous large surgery I regularly waited up to 45”. Small is beautiful and I thoroughly recommend this one if you are lucky enough to get on their books!

Colin is one of the best dentists that I’ve ever had, he is very calm and I have never been afraid of the dentist for this reason!
