Smile Dental Care - Sturminster (Old Market Dental Practice)

Had a white filling on Friday and thought I'd share my experience. Firstly there is a friendly and covid-secure reception with minimal waiting time. The dentist, Michael, was extremely professional and gentle (I didn't even realize he had administered the anaesthetic until we were well into the procedure!) Excellent attention to detail - the filling itself feels like my tooth, not just a lump of amalgam. I would highly recommend this practice (I have never had a bad experience in my years here) particularly if you have an anxiety about visiting the dentist. It's relaxed, professional and painless. Ideal.

Although I had an extraction it was a pleasant experience. The dentist told me exactly what he was going to do. The nurse was very caring and attentive, both dentist and nurse were professional while being friendly. The receptionist was equally professional and friendly. I truly felt cared for and experienced no pain during or after. Absolutely nothing like the 'olden days'!

As a person with anxieties about seeing the dentist I was neevous about my appointment.
We arrived to find we were the only 2 people in the waiting room due to covid restrictions.
Checking in was as simple as giving my name to a freindly receptionist.
My appointment was on time. The dentist I saw was brilliant. He listened to my problem with my tooth. Did my examination while explaining how he would treat the issue.
He took the time to further discuss everything and explain he would create a quote.
The quote was waiting when i left the treatment room and an appointment made for 3 weeks time.

I had to have an old filling replaced, which I was dreading.
Michael, the dentist, did a wonderful job. I didn't feel a thing. He even numbed the gum before giving me the usual injection, so I didn't even feel that.
I hope Michael is appreciated at the practice, for his skills which are far superior to the previous dentist they had there.

Excellent service. Needed a quick resolution to a lost filling. Sorted within 2 days with a temporary filling. Advice was to replace with a crown, which was expertly completed with no complications. The staff are very professional and very friendly. All in all a great dentist and would highly reccommend.

Terrible! I made an appointment with the hygienist for a clean up, but they didn't have access to their ultrasonic drill (due to Covid restrictions) and never bothered informing me of this when I called to book the appointment. I turned up there and the dentist 'broke the news' to me, spent the best part of FIVE minutes attempting to do - using a manual tool - a job he knew could not be done properly without the right tools (which he then spent the next 15 minutes telling me about). When I got back to the reception after the 'appointment' (for lack of a more suitable word), they still charged me £60, insisting that I had received treatment... that's a lot of money to spend for some chit chat with your dentist!

If only there was an option for leaving zero stars...

I'm a nervous reck going to the dentist. The new lady dentist ( sorry didn't take her name) was amazing. Both the Dentist and Dentle nurse were caring and gentle. Both very understanding about my nerves, which has repaired my faith in dentists

I came yesterday with my daughter, husband and newborn and the new dentist is absolutely lovely. The staff were really friendly and professional. As a nervous patient I was really dreading going but he made me feel relaxed and treated us all extremely preffessionally. Would definitely recommend
