The deduction of the stars however is due to the reception staff I have dealt with. From telling me I couldn't book two appointments in one go (which turns out you can) to then booking me in for the wrong treatment (a broken tooth instead of a filling) to then telling me that they made an error and the amount I was told to pay for my filling should have been nearly double the amount, which I then had to pay. I requested a copy of all my payments via email which was met with a sarcastic 'ok' and then the phone being slammed down.
Over the years I have been with this dentist the reception have every time given me false information or just not completed things correctly, another example being that they didn't change my address for years after me requesting 5 times, to then kicking me off the NHS because I hadn't attended in two years.. which I wouldn't have because my appointment letters were going to the wrong address.
More training at reception is an absolute necessity. And if the staff cannot be bothered to learn how to deal with people and inquiries correctly then better staff is needed as a few times I have felt a 'cant be bothered' attitude. It really puts people off as they are the first point of contact and it could be dangerous if they get peoples details wrong. If it wasn't for the dentist being fantastic I would be changing, and if I have problems with reception again I will be going elsewhere as too many times this has happened.
