We have been with the practice for several years and at first all was well. However, over the past year or so we have had our appointments cancelled just days before they are due - we book them months in advance. We then have our re-booked appointments cancelled.
We have had some good dentists and some not so good, unfortunately we never manage to see the same one for very long. This time we waited an extra 2 months for an appointment with a 'permanent' dentist, which has been cancelled.
Enough is enough, what is going on?
3 years I have been waiting for my broken tooth to be out and still waiting!
They have cancelled on me 3 times! Each time I go in for a check up its with 3 different dentist that you will never see again!
All to tell you " you need that out". I'm no dentist but I new that years ago!
Book in to have it out and each time my appointment gets cancelled. One time only a hour before hand.
I booked myself and my children in this week for a check up on them as well as to see if finally that will remove my broken tooth. Got a text message confirming our appointments only to find out that they have given my appointment to someone else and all they could do is apologies and rebook me in the following month.
Instead I used our time to rebook ourselves at a different dentist who are more reliable, and that the staff last longer then 3weeks.
Such a shame but if you are worried going to the dentist or want a good experience then my advice is DO NOT GO HERE!
I arrived 15 minutes early. My appointment was at 09:30 and I had not been called in by 10:00. I checked with receptionist who said "its because you were late". I said I was in fact early. The she said " its because you didn't check in with reception" How she knew I was late if I hadn't checked in I haven't managed to work out yet!!! I said I certainly did check in and was told to take a seat. She then said " I'm the only person on reception and you didn't see me". So to recap I have by now been accused of
1. Being late 2. Not checking in 3. Lying
Then "Take a seat and I'll see if the dentist will still see you" as if it would be a big favour to me.
I then spoke to the manager re my experience. I also raised a concern that I had witnessed 2 patients with the same surname be mixed up - one going into the others appointment. I'm a nurse, this is serious, potentially dangerous. The manager could not be less interested - no concern, no apology. Disgraceful.
The dentist was the only one to apologise and it wasn't her fault.
i accept that things go wrong, we are all human, but the response and lack of apology is unacceptable.
If you reply to this please do not post your stock reply about contacting the manger at Havant because I don't see that yielding any acceptable response.
My Mum tried to join this practice, we waited at the reception whilst the receptionist chatted on a personal call bloating about how well her daughter was doing at Uni. After acknowledging us, she covered the receiver & asked us what the problem was, I replied “no problem my Mum would like to register”. She huffed & gave us a form whilst continuing her call. We waited a few more minutes just to ask a question only to be ignored.
My Mum did not get a call back regarding her registration & when she eventually made an appointment they cancelled on her giving her an appointment 4 weeks later.
Awful. Hasty. Unprofessional.
I was told the dentist would be back beginning of January so i got booked in for an assessment only to have the appointment cancelled the day before so I had to re book. After the assessment i was asked to book again to prep the molar for a private crown. Molar got prepared at the beginning on February and the dentist told me she wanted me back within a week to fit it. When I spoke to reception i was told that the crown wouldnt be ready in a week and that they would ring me when they had it to book me in but a month went past and i heard nothing so i went back and enquired only to be told they didnt have it yet and they rang the lab who told them it would arrive within the next week and again i was told by them that i would get a call to book me in as soon as they had the crown.
Nearly another month has passed and nothing. So I am going to have to go back again and enquire or ask for a refund because this is unacceptable.
I would switch dentists but many have a long list for private patients and so it is a waiting game. Not to mention they always shut at 5pm so people with 9to5 jobs dont get to see the dentist easily unless they have time off which isnt always easy to get.
