Cheltenham House Dental Practice

Awful! I called for an emergency appointment at 8am (advertised opening time) this morning; 27 missed calls later the phone is finally answered at 8.32am. The only appointment they have is at 12. 11.45 comes (when I am literally 2 minutes down the road!) and they call me to say the dentist needs to go home as he has a migraine and next appointment is at 3.45. Meanwhile, I am suffering with excruciating pain from an infected wisdom tooth. This is not the first time my appointment has been rescheduled or cancelled last minute. I call a more local practice who ask me to come in straight away and by 1.30 my tooth is out and pain gone. I feel really disappointed in the service (lack of) I have recieved. I only ask for an emergency appointment when I need it so to be asked to spend the day in agony is not nice. Also, their time management is appalling. Often been 30-45 minutes late after appointment time. Overall, majorly disappointing and poor.

I had an appointment today and on arrival I explained to the 2 young girls on reception how nervous I was feeling. They both happily talked me through what I should expect in terms of the treatment which was very good of them and helped me to relax a little before I was called in. Before the dentist started my treatment she explained what would happen, which again helped me to relax a little more. After the treatment was over I really don’t know what I was so worried about as the whole experience was as they explained from start to finish.
I would recommend anyone who is nervous about visiting the dentist to try this dental practice as they really do care for you.

I received treatment today from a pair of professionals that was second to none. Dr Pranhan assisted by Sophie worked in perfect harmony. The care and personalised treatment received will put most anyone under ease.

The receptionist was also fantastic, welcoming and informative.

All round amazing dentist. Although appointments can sometimes be difficult to get you have to understand a dentist is a busy place so take the rough with the smooth. Everyone is always very polite and I’ve never had a bad experience whilst attending. Fully recommend.

They kept pushing back my appointment by a month every month for half a year, then when I finally had it they just left me with a temporary filling because they ran out of time and told me to come back in 6 months.

So a reality check.

3/4 month wait for a check up.
Had my appointments cancelled twice even though I expressed my concerns.

Have had to go private, thanks but no thanks.

Been going here for about 5 years. Two years ago was treated by a horrible female dentist who treated you like a naughty child. She left and I was very happy with the new dentist. Check ups were spread further and further apart. Last month I got an email to say my 10 month appointment due next week had been cancelled. When I asked why I was told the dentist was going on holiday. I have heard nothing since regarding another appointment.

Couldn't find another NHS dentist so gave them another chance. What a difference. Treated with respect by all staff and the new dentist I saw was very gentle and encouraging. Would now recommend them without hesitation.

I've been a patient here for a number of years and can fully recommend the practice. Always friendly and efficient service.

I see Danielle the hygienist every six months and she is brilliant. Not at all painful like some hygienists can be and my teeth feel and look much better after every visit.

They do have a high turnover of dentists unfortunately. I think I've seen a different one every time I've had a check-up, but having said that they have all been professional, friendly and consistent with their comments and advice for me and they are the main things you want as a patient after all.

Have posted this mainly as a counterpoint to some of the negative reviews that I feel are unfair. Don't be put off, because I'm a very nervous dental patient and if I've been going here for years even with different dentists every time then they must be doing plenty right
