I am a nervous patient but I was going in today for the first step of a revised treatment plan.
The last visits I have had several X-rays and explained on more then one occasion how uncomfortable and nervous I felt. Each time I have paid my bill all but it always being quite high
Today I had a clean which the dentist said was below the gum line, I was in the surgery for 26 minutes, when I came out to pay I was told it would be £200.00
I explained that I was not happy about this and queried with the owner, I said I would pay for the clean but basically I was told by the owner to find somewhere more suited to my needs!!!
I am disgusted at the total lack of empathy and customer service, this practice quite clearly are only concerned about the money and in these circumstances we’re happy to get me off their books.
Such a terrible shame as the previous private dentist on the high street closed as the owner retired, he was a perfect gentleman with the most incredible way with nervous patients.
The above practice should be ashamed and I will be taking my complaint further
I saw the dentist last time in 2016 for a removable bridge, which in my case was a necessity. This bridge, in the last 6 to 7 years, had allowed me to eat without pain and to enjoy the experience too. This month he demonstrated his specialised skills again in working on a tooth, in contact with the bridge, that needed filling. Thank you.
On a personal level, the dentist talked to me as if I came to the clinic recently not in 2016, which reassured me and added to my confidence. His practical advice about hygienic care for bridges is also invaluable.
Unfortunately we have not been registered with him other than for initial work I had done which was superb. Mine and my husbands care was OK but other dentist not personable at all. However, our son (3) was registered as a NHS patient with them and had an accident and needed to see the dentist. After waiting 3.5 hours for a call back they refused to see him and told me to call NHS 111. I called Damira in Sudbury who saw him within an hour, x-rayed his teeth and were absolutely amazing. Needless to say we are all now with Damira.
