Norwood High Street Dental Clinic

It was my first and last appointment today in this surgery. I asked for a male dentist when I booked and they accepted by telling me to wait for the following week but apparently when I went they took me to a female dentist called Neva Patel ( I could not remember her name until I checked on your website and all thanks to google ) without a notice or even telling me that a male dentist is not available. When I went back to the reception Rocio Ruiz, she apologised for what happened so I understood that mistakes happen...I returned to her to do her job but she started saying things like: she was willing to see me but I am the one who did not want to, and she needs to think if she's gonna accept me or not....etc It seems like I am begging for a treatment not looking for a service like any customer !!!!!!!!!!
I have the right to ask for a male dentist and if you do not do this service you must tell me when I booked !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bye

VERY UNHELPFUL. Went in for a check up as a newly registered patient. Was told i had a fairly serious issue with my gums & teeth so was given a treatment plan and told to make another appointment as i needed to visit the hygienist.

They said the next available appointment was in a MONTH!

This place is extremely busy so getting close appointments is impossible.

I had to contact another dental surgery to get a closer appointment.

They also did not answer my calls when i tried to ring over 10 times! and the dentist i was seeing did not phone me back as i was told she would by the receptionist.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS ! ! !

Haven't used them in a while. Seems they have a high staff turnover. The last dentist I had here was the Indian chap - one of the best dentists I've ever been seen by. He took his time and explained everything to me.

One thing people don't explain is if they are private or NHS. I'm sorry but unless you're living in some time capsule that goes back to 1930's England, you are not going to get good treatment for the prices they charge. For example, I had amazing root canal but had to go private to get it done well. The reason is that NHS patients funding caps out well below that required for root canal. Most people don't get that often dentists are stuck having to either give sub-standard treatment or else their own time for NHS patients.

My only complaints are that the receptionist who answered me speaks really broken English. When I was an administrator, you were expected to have a clear greeting as standard. It sounds like she is saying "hello - how can I help you?" instead of a more helpful "Hello, Norwood Dental Surgery, how may I help you?". Also - when I asked for an appointment, some surgeries will ask if you are in pain, or if you think it is an emergency (and then ask questions). This place is like someone is doing the reception work as a favour. Could certainly be more professional.

I'll update this once I've been but these are just some initial observations.

Laura is an amazing dentist. She is friendly and professional and made me feel at ease even though I have a fear of going to the dentist. I would highly recommend her and for an NHS practice it is a really good service.

Exceeded my expectations. First time using this clinic and was very happy. Laura is everything you want from a dentist; professional, efficient and kind. It was easy to get appointments and the place feels clean and organised. Easy 5 stars.

I've just changed my dental practice and I had very good service. The dentist,Laura was brilliant that she found out about my tooth problem that I had for long time and no other dentist found out before. I'm very pleased with it.

Fantastic dentist, highly recommend - big thank you to Laura and the team, sorted a right mess out in me ol' mouf... Got a tooth out, 6 fillings and a half crown for £260... God bless the NHS, but even more kudos to Laura, I love you, you are great, lemme know if you wanna get married some time. 5 STARS

I went to this dentist in alot of pain and I'm a person who hates going to the dentist but I had the best dentist ever Laura. I never felt a thing she made me feel so relaxed and I can honestly say I would never visit another dentist again no matter where I live 100% recommended
