I've only been with this practice for about a year since moving to the area but have required some extensive treatment during this period.

The treatment I have received has been first class every time. A highly professional service.

What's more it's nice to be told what the problem is, what has caused it and given options for treatment and advice for prevention.

If I'm completely honest I didn't think much of my dentists bedside manner when I first visited as I thought it to be strick. Infact, as a result im not such a big baby during treatment and I no longer get anxious before or during my visit.

I recommend this practice to a friend a few months back and he too has nothing but praise for them.

OUTSTANDING. PROFESSIONAL.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I'm in the area (well an hr away) due a bereavement. Had an Emergency appointment & had the worst tooth extraction of my life. One dentist started It & couldn't continue bringing in another dentist who became really angry with me saying "you can't keep doing this" as if it was my fault the tooth wasn't coming out, it felt like he was going to break my jaw. I also have TMJD so dentist appointments are hard at the best of times. Granted one of the roots had curled apparently so no wonder it hurt like hell!

Left & was in Agony for 5 days straight, decided to visit another dentist in Derby via 111 again (after being sent around in circles on several 111 calls) to be told It had become infected. That dentist cleaned It & gave me antibiotics but I'm still in pain.
I now face the prospect of attending my Dad's funeral in pain now ... I really think due to the horrific extraction they should have given me antibiotics immediately & also knowing I have a close family funeral! This may have saved me a lot of hassle at an already horrendous time!

Terrible timing for a tooth extraction yes but this made worse by no follow up medication !!!!!

The rudeness of the male dentist was the worst part, if I wasn't in such a vulnerable position at the time I would have smacked him in the mouth & told him "you can't keep doing this"

My advice ....... If your calling 111 for an emergency dentist don't go to this one !
I used Normanton Family Dentist on the second appointment & they were pretty average but at least they realised I needed medical help & they weren't Rude!

Receptionist needs to understand they are unqualified and on minimum wage - they’re not bodyguards. Being rude to people who call isn’t part of your job description, nor is it necessary.

Despite being an NHS practice, they apparently don’t see NHS patients (a citizens right, as stated by the NHS themselves might I add) unless they are registered with the practice (something that isn’t required, again as stated by the NHS).

They also don’t do emergency appointments unless you are registered with the practice. Again, a violation of rights. You are not a private practice. You don’t have the right to act as one.

Laughing when people ask what they should do is not an appropriate response either; you work for the NHS meaning you have a duty of care, especially in an emergency. How you haven’t closed down yet is beyond me.

Avoid at all costs, especially when Boomer Karen is on shift.

Mr Walker is absolutely fantastic, as is Becky the hygienist. I'm so so nervous. They are always so patient and understanding. However I do dread ringing and entering the practice. Receptionist definately needs some customer service skills.

Very friendly professional and efficient. The receptionist was so helpful. Feel grateful to finally be registered with a decent dentist

Used to be regular here. They kept cancelling my appointments in fact they cancelled 4 appointments days before the appointment then tried to say i had not been. They are 100% useless!!!

We had to go abroad for a funeral, so when we received the message the day before the original appointment coming up we called them straight away to not waste their time and told them that we need to move the appointment. We were told that it is done, and when I asked for a message about telling me the date of my new appointment, I was told that I would receive the same reminder I did the first time. With the situation being as it was, I was happy this was the case.

I ended up not receiving the message, and I called them asking for the date of the appointment and I was told that it was overdue and I am no longer a patient at their surgery. When explaining the situation in person, the owner of the surgery, P Moore came out and told the receptionists to call the police and when I explained the situation to him he was very rude and told me to get out, and that not remembering the appointment date was my fault even though I was assured that I would be reminded.

Was looking for advice whether dental practices still require self-isolation before dental work, they weren't willing to answer. Context: I am alone with no car and no help, trying to get to a dentist. Even this information would be very valuable to me to see how far I can even look (in case I had to make it to the dentist on foot after a self-isolation period).
