Used to have a phobia of the dentist but not any more. Anyone who can remove a wisdom tooth in ten minutes and leave no swelling must be good! Been going for years and highly recommend them

Been going here over 40 years. Never any complaints. Went back today for an urgent tooth extraction. Was given an appointment the same day and they got the bad tooth out with no fuss and zero pain. Place has recently undergone a complete facelift too and looks MUCH better than it used to.

Visited the surgery this morning and would absolutely recommend. I was a patient of Mr Bailey for over 20 years so was nervous of seeing a new dentist but he was so kind and reassuring and his nurse was lovely. I actually left the surgery smiling which wasn't easy with my face half numb but even the injections were painless.

Mr Bailey was excellent, was seeing him since i was a toddler, but he's sadly now retired. Saw Dr Patel instead to have a wobbly crown re-glued. he didn't have enough time first appointment, so told me to come back for a deep clean (the first appointment was £25, a deep clean appointment is an additional £45), he'll reattach it then after the deep clean. So went back again for a deep clean, which wasn't such a deep clean, more like hitting each tooth once with the polisher as if to say done that one. then proceeded to xray me for possible wisdom teeth issues, never been an issue before and i hadn't mentioned them to him. after all this, gave a simple excuse and said he couldn't re-fit the crown, but to come back in 3 months for another checkup! so im now down £70 and still have a wobbly crown. made an appointment at Great Knightlys in Basildon, no faffing, took the crown straight off, assessed it, said all was fine. re-glued it, i was in and out in 5 minutes, including the 2 minutes to hold the tooth in place for the glue to adhere. i'm a bit gob-smacked to be honest.

The absolutely worst experience I've ever had in a dentist. I came with my crown in my hand which was already chipped. When i asked the lady dentist what our options were she said all she could do was put the chipped crown back on. Bearing in mind I've had this crown for 18 years and have been told by previous dentist i needed a new one i didn't quite understand why we would be putting the old one Back on. I explained this to her she said there was no NHS for this treatment which,h again baffled me. I didn't understand so asked her to exactly explain what she meant. Her explanation was pure trash which is why i needed to keep asking her to explain. At this point her assistant went dowmstairs to tell the owner i was being rude, even though i hadn't raised my voice or said anything rude. She just didn't like the fact that i wasn't taking her explanation and was asking her to explain better. After 5 minutes she managed to explain herself better, once i understood why she had to put the old one back on i was more than happy to do so. However the problems didn't stop there she rushed the job leaving a lot of cement on my other teeth and tooth in an unnatural position causing me to bite down on metal constantly. I told her this to which she told me to stop exaggerating. I then asked for her name she refused. 24 hours later amd I'm unable to eat properly or keep my mouth closed for long periods of time because it feels completely uncomfortable.

No longer Bailey & Gibbons.. I went to Smile Dental Surgery a week or so ago as I have a dental abscess. Dr Patel is extremely rude and condescending. I don’t think you should be in a profession that requires you to deal with members of the public, if you don’t know HOW to speak to people with respect.

After speaking to who I would assume was a trainee dentist about me while I was seated there, and after accusing me of missing an appointment I knew nothing about; he proceeded to tell me he “couldn’t be bothered to do a root canal” and referred me to have my tooth pulled out. He didn’t mention where this would be and I had to ask the dental nurse who informed me it would be in Romford and they would contact me.. it’s been a week or so and I haven’t heard from them.

The one star is solely for the lovely receptionist..

Absolutely horrible service, no sympathy, no time for patient ended up with false teeth that were so loose no amount of denture glue could keep them in & refused to rectify! AVOID

Wouldn’t recommend this dentist. Dr Patel decided to do tooth extraction and only removed half of the tooth leaving the root still in. A few months later I experienced terrible pain and was told I would be contacted by a hospital via referral. I waited months for this “referral” only to be told I had to pay to remove the remaining tooth fragments…why would I pay for something that should’ve been done during the first appointment. I’ve decided to go to a new dentist which is private, and I’ve been told I’ll need SEVEN fillings, how on earth did Dr Patel miss that?!
