I left work 30 mins early for my dental appointment at 5:00pm which should have given me plenty of time. However, the M6 was very busy so I asked my partner if he could call ahead to let them know I would be late. He called three times and got the same recorded message back saying they were closed (it was before 5:00pm and they close at 5:30pm on Wednesday. I arrived late to find there is a woman on reception who could have answered the call! She tried blaming it on the dentist saying he was busy (he has never answered phone calls) and that I had to rearrange my appointment for another day. If she had answered the phone, I could have rearranged over the phone instead of driving out of my way only to not have my check up.
I couldn't give one star for this however as I have been to this dentist all of my life and the dentist and nurse are very kind. From now on, I will only book late night appointments as I can't be losing work time if my appointment isn't guaranteed.

I previously used this dentist myself and Mr Blaylock is a lovely guy. I ultimately had to change dentist as I tried to rearrange a general check up and never recieved details of the appointment and was taken off the patient list. When I eventually got through to reception she was very rude and made changing practice an easy choice. Just arrived today for my sisters appointment 2 min late and the same rude receptionist has just aggressively said the next patient has gone in and my sister will need to re book but may not be able too as this appointment has already been altered once. Let's just say the rude receptionist who rolled her eyes and made it clear she couldn't be arsed was told that its fortunate the next patient was here and that the slot is still there and therefore my sister will see the dentist. The actual dentists informed of this too as I made sure I went in with my sister. Just be firm with reception is my advice.

The building needs some attention paint flaking off walls etc the guy is miserable. Avoid

Brilliant dentist

Firstly I would like to say that this rating does not reflect the dental surgeons themselves - Mr Baylock is amazing and his nurses are also very sweet and polite.

The reception staff are rude and lack empathy. I rang up to book an appointment, was told I wasn't able to due to Corona. I rang up a few months later due to being in agonizing pain to find out I was removed from the register without being warned.

I made a formal complaint over the phone to be laughed at by the receptionist, who then furthered her actions by saying that her manager had no issue with how she acted (they said in their email that their manager wasn't in so one is lying).

I then emailed a complaint form to be deflected on every point, and tell me that their receptionist hasn't had a complaint in over 20 years despite the reviews section being filled with complaints about HER,

Overall, amazing dentist dragged down by poorly trained and rude staff.

My mother attended for an appointment this morning regarding something she was very concerned about. Having seen Mr Blaylock, she was completely put at ease and feels reassured, especially due to the brilliant hygiene practices that are put in place. Great service amidst difficult times! Thank you
