Kirkgate Dental Practice

The receptionist was rude, aggressive and displayed a truly sackable attitude towards patients. She also tried to block my efforts to make a formal complaint about her behaviour by telling me that there was no manager and no higher authority to complain to. It was only when I pressed her on this point that she revealed the individual's name, but even then she would not give me a way of contacting the person other than via herself, which I obviously wasn't going to do because expecting a patient to log a complaint with the very person that they are complaining about is just ridiculous. This practice has gone down hill faster than a toboggan at the Winter Olympics since the departure of Alex Head. The result? I have voted with my feet and found a Practice that will treat patients with due consideration and respect. Still private unfortunately, but if I am paying ( and even if I am not) then politeness, WITHOUT aggression, rudeness and gaslighting is the least that I am entitled to expect.

Just moved back to Thirsk and had cracked a tooth last, they managed to fit me in the following morning, and I hadn't even registered as a new patient at that point, all the staff are incredibly friendly, can't recommended them enough. Excellent service.

£44 for 5 minutes...no thanks. Been my dentist for nearly 35 years both NHS and private. Now it's not NHS so I needed to book in with a new dentist who didn't ask me one thing apart from if I was a smoker. No customer service whatsoever. Sorry to the lovely girls still working there, it's not you it's me!

I have been with this practice for many years. I have seen some changes ie through Covid….working practices were changed but I have always felt safe and that they have my health and well being of utmost importance. Everyone is very friendly… the dentists and hygienists put you at ease. The reception staff are always very helpful and happy to explain anything. I am able to pre book my next appointments and if I have a problem I’ve been seen quickly or I’ve had a call back for reassurance and help on what to do. Thank you everyone.
