University Dental Hospital

Tuesday 27th December. I've been in agony over Christmas with tooth-ache. My dentist was closed and the emergency cover phone number was not operating. There was no emergency cover whatever in Newport, where we live. The Heath Dental School website said it was open 8:30am to 5pm. Nobody was answering the emergency phone number so we drove to the Heath, only to find the Dental School closed. This means there was no emergency dental cover whatever in both Newport and Cardiff over the entire Christmas period. The moral is ...... Don't get tooth-ache over Christmas!

Everyone here are so friendly and professional, made me feel at ease and comfortable. Visited twice now since end of January due to inflammation and swelling on my lower lip which has been ongoing for around 8 months. Was referred by my dentist last October. Saw Dr Atkin, and on both occasions he has been professional and friendly and takes time to explain, not quick to rush you out like some places and l am not made to feel a nuisance. The students are lovely too. Due to go back in 4 months

The staff and dentists are all of a very high professional standard. You are treated with respect and carefully with regards to your needs. Advice given by staff with regards to further treatment straight away and a letter for reminding you. A clean and tidy hospital as well .

What is the point of this place! I went in with a missing filling causing me pain and a chipped tooth. Can't register with a dentist, with 23 calls to different dentists to try and register. The dental hospital sent me away with a missing filling and a chipped tooth still... I am in absolute agony... Ridiculous place and pointless... The nhs urgently needs reform.

When you have a dental emergency, it's a relief to know that you can get amazing service from the dentist. Dr Anca did a stellar job in calming me down and doing an emergency extraction.

Had a cap put on my tooth which was only supposed to be there for 2 weeks, and that was 6 months ago, I was told I'd be contacted with an appointment date but heard nothing, tried countless times to get in touch but the number doesn't even seem to work anymore.

Had a good experience at the dental hospital. The staff were friendly and professional. They did a great job of extracting my tooth in one piece, so a painless experience. Thank you so much, and good luck to the student that performed most of the extraction!

Pathetic service by the front reception staff. I was not allowed in with my wife because they said they are only allowing patients with appointments. Fair enough, however while waiting outside I've seen atleast 6 couples and two male and two female were all allowed without asking any questions although only one of them appeared to have an appointment. Looks like they are picking and choosing who can go in. Disgusting service.
