Whilst the medical staff and most of the reception team are incredible, some people working at the front desk act as if you are insulting their child whenever you hold the smallest complaint. I went in to drop off a sample from my youngest, and the lady at the front told me, in an overly aggressive tone, that I was too late as they get sent off at 3. Neither me nor my son had been told this, and my son also tried to drop off the sample a few days prior at 6 o'clock, but the surgery was closed despite the website and the same woman saying over the phone that it closes at 6:30. I was told that opening times were reduced due to the pandemic, but this information wasn't listed any where online. In short, the doctors are perfect, but certain members of the reception make the experience less than pleasant, with everyone I know leaving with a sour taste in their mouths (which is of no relation to their medical queries)

It’s extremely hard to get any appointments. You have to call at 8 am for any appointments. The phone system doesn’t work, spent 30 mins on phone and not getting to anyone. When you call in afternoon telling them about the issue they don’t listen and ask to do the same the next morning.

Given up on getting any care through them.

For instance, just went to boots to pay for medicine; the pharmacist was surprised and said everyone’s GP provides them but have no hope of getting anything from this one.

Very responsive when my son needed vaccinations. We have been with this practice for years as a family and they have always tried hard to help us.

Impossible to book or get an appointment to see a GP. You have to call only at 8am and if your lucky enough they might consider seeing you, been trying to book a consultation for days now.. do not recommend, looking for another GP that actually care about their patients and not just their NHS quota

I’m trying to book an appointment for the past week, all the times the answer is “no appointments available, call back tomorrow at 8 o’clock”.
Finally, today there was one spot available!…. But apparently I was not registered at the surgery.
She hanged up on me without even asking my nhs number to double check or at least trying to help me.
15 minutes later, I called back with proof of my application and there I was, registered (thanks to my nhs number)….. but then all the appointments were taken. the answer once again was “Call back tomorrow at 8 o’clock”.
(Currently situation:
stuck in bed with sciatica and unable to speak to someone)
Very unhelpful and careless.
Regretted the day I signed up here.

Called at 8 o'clock at 9th in the queue and after 30 mins of waiting I was told there is no more appointment slots available as they are full and told me to ring back again at 8 o'clock again. ie. If you have 20 slots available for the day then it should not have taking more callers and putting them on hold. Frustrating on this but doctors are great in this partice. Update: called in the next day at 8 am sharp, but line is busy and could not get through, very very frustrating.

Have found all the medical staff to be supportive and thorough. I feel my family and I are in good hands.

A couple of years later I feel the need to edit this. I still find the doctors themselves to be great and I will remain at the surgery because of them but the staff on reception are rude and unhelpful. I brace myself to deal with them either on the phone or in person. Not a community spirited establishment in that respect.

I have just scrolled down to read the myriad of complaints about the front desk. I have no idea why the practice does nothing about it as it reflects so poorly.

The person at the réception is incredibly rude and unhelpful. Would not even make a copy of my ID. I tried registering twice before giving up. I went to another GP who registered me in 15 minutes. Go somewhere else.
