I have found the Doctors at the practice to be brilliant. They always go above and beyond and the turn around for repeat medication requests is always fast. The Reception team are always helpful and professional. I highly recommend Gladstone House Surgery, Ilkeston.

Been a patient at this practice since around 2012. The reception staff are very friendly and understanding, in spite of the fact they're always _very_ busy. Dr Farrands, Dr Barnett and Dr Ratan are absolute legends, they've helped me immensely over the years and I'm so grateful.

After reading some of the reviews on here, I think people need to bear in mind that ALL GP surgeries are under MASSIVE pressure to deliver care to everyone who needs it and I think you'll find all the same problems (full phone lines, difficulty obtaining appointments) but much worse at most other practices.

Don't forget you can complete an eConsult via Gladstone House's website at any time during the surgery's opening hours. I've done this several times and found the turnaround time to be surprisingly fast and I didn't have to wait in a phone queue or speak to anyone. Your eConsult will be initially reviewed by a receptionist who will then escalate it to the relevant healthcare professional.

I personally think the eConsult feature is brilliant. I'm quite forgetful and often forget to mention certain things at appointments, where as with the econsult I can sit and review everything I've written and ensure I don't forget to say anything.

Spent 2 days trying to get through to Drs on the phone for my daughter who had a chest infection. Ended up going to drs to beg for an appointment through the window. At appointment next day watched the receptionist ignore the phone repeatedly and chat with patients. At one point an old man was waiting at the window but she didn't notice. Very frustrating to see after trying to call the previous 2 days. Drs are great when you finally get to see them.

Horrendous service, I’ve been ill for 8 months and the dr only offered antidepressants, I finally got them to do some tests and they came back as elevated inflammation. I was finally referred for a gastroenterology appointment but found that the gastro dr just looked at my notes and sent an email to my gp with advice and I had to call for this advice. When I tried to do this I was told there was a 3 month wait for appointments and I wouldn’t be allowed to call up on a morning to make an appointment for this. Absolute waste of time, I’m switching surgery they have no interest in women’s physical or mental health at all and make me feel like a nuisance for seeking help. If you don’t want to help people with their health why become a doctor?

I have been a patient at this surgery since I moved into the area in 2001. My first GP was Dr Mistry, who was a lovely GP who got to know his patients as individuals. I was sad when he finally retired but the doctors, particularly Dr Barnet and Dr Farrands, have been particularly supportive of me ,especially since my cancer diagnosis and the other staff at the surgery are all great. Very caring. I can throughly recommend them to anyone thinking of registering with this surgery.

Becoming more and more difficult to get an appointment, Drs and Nurses are lovely as are two of the receptionist. Not being able to speak to or get an appointment is leaving me very desperate and at a loss of what to do.

Waited 38 minutes for someone to answer phone to ask why a repeat prescription wasn't authorised after 6 days. Been with the surgery all my life but its just gone down hill no doubt they'll blame covid 19

Absolutely shocking. Been my doctors all my life and I don't know what's going on but I am disgusted with the attitude and unprofessional consultation.
Having to get the stars alignment right to get someone to know what they are on about is frustrating.
And getting something wrong with others and me and family
Sorry but ya fired!!!!
