Meddygfa Canna Surgery

Surprised to see all the one star reviews. My experience has been good. Docs are great. Pharmacy on site. Can book appointments and order repeat prescriptions online via the my health website. It can sometimes be frustrating trying to get an appointment but the 'emergency' appointment means you can always see/speak to a doctor on the same day if it's urgent.

It's difficult to reconcile my positive experience with the negative reviews posted below. I've been registered with Canna Surgery for ~6 years. The doctors are very helpful if you need to see them, getting an appointment is fast outside the winter months - during the winter months / flu season it takes longer like all doctor surgeries.. Lastly, all prescriptions in Wales are free and have been since 2007.

I came to the clinic with severe eczema and was turned away as I had no proof of address. I am travelling from Australia, and asked to register as a temporary patient as I am staying at a hostel within the zone (which I provided paperwork from the Heath hospital showing this) and they still turned me away. The reception staff are inhuman, and extremely unfriendly. Australia and England have a reciprocal agreement to look after each other if we fall ill whilst travelling which has occurred in my case, yet the reception staff knew nothing of this as they are poorly trained. They told me I had to go find another clinic. Mind you, did I mention I am currently on crutches with a torn ligament and dislocated knee, covered in severe eczema and barely able to move? Yeah, they noticed and still told me to find another clinic which would be a 15 minute walk away. Do not waste your time here.

Very bad experience offered by reception today, specifically by the old receptionist - the younger one is quite polite and always helpful.
I am pregnant last trimester diagnosed with gestational diabetes, having ongoing medication which I cannot interrupt, although I requested medication and made her aware I will need it as soon as possible, I was still asked to come complete a form to the clinic and expose myself during COVID 19 situation..no alternative form of completing it online or being offered a doctor telephone consultation, as previously have been offered and also no guarantee of having the medication the next day.
I would strongly advise her to consider some courses on how to speak to clients and how to triage patients or just to orient herself to a different field.
Otherwise the doctors I have seen have always been brilliant and the surgery itself is clean and welcoming.

Fantastic doctors. Very quick diagnosis of my husband's serious illness which could very well mean treatment is successful. Also kept very safe during covid. Reception staff have always been lovely. Best drs we've ever had.

Extremely happy with telephone diagnosis from Dr Khalifa who understood the problem instantly.
I had been to a pharmacy and an optician for help but sadly useless. The drops Dr Khalifa prescribed eased the issue to my relief . A great addition to Canna Surgery.

Always friendly, professional and nothing is to much trouble for myself and my daughter. Highly recommend
