Absolutely appalled by Dr.Alstead.
He didnt even let my explain my problem before giving me a lecture, and hurrying me out of his office, after I waited over 2 weeks to get an appointment.

ALSTEAD UNBELIEVABLY RUDE ARROGANT AND OBNOXIOUS !!!

Phillip Alstead was called out to attend my mother as she has a form of dementia and had been screaming all through the night. He arrived as I was conducting business on the telephone with Santander at about 5pm later that day. He was immediately belligerent and said that there was no point in contacting him and said he didn’t know why he’d been asked to visit or what was expected of him. He said, “I can’t do anything, so don’t know why I was called out !”.
Santander we’re going through security questions with me, and he said “HANG UP THE PHONE, ……HANG UP…….HANG UP NOW !” The lady at Santander was listening to him as well, but due to his insistence I did terminate the call. I told him he was ignorant, confrontational and very unprofessional. He then refused to look at my mother and told me he was leaving. He lied and said I had told him to leave, which I had not. He then said he felt unsafe, to which I responded that if he did, then so did I and that I would contact the General Medical Council in London. He said, fine, then I’ll contact the Social Services and say you’re not looking after your mother. I told him to do whatever he needed to do. Later he phoned back on my mobile in a real smarmy voice saying “this is the dr who just visited your mother…” … but I refused to speak with him, saying any conversation with him would now be through the General Medical Council, so he immediately retaliated by saying he’d contact the police and say my mother was in an unsafe home. Again I told him to do what he needed to do. About 15 mins later an ambulance arrived, saying they had an emergency call from a doctor and they had been told it was a life and death situation and there was a woman lying in bed and he didn’t know if she was alive or dead. (If he had truly thought that, why had he left?) I explained what had happened and the reason Alstead had called them, and they were appalled with his conduct. They spent about 45 minutes giving my mother tests and were very satisfied with her remaining under my care. Alstead did contact Social Services in retaliation, who arrived a few days later with a District Nurse, who were marvellous, and have visited three more times with utmost consideration.
Alstead has a reputation which precedes him and has other similar complaints against him over many years.
I reported him verbatim to Senior Management at the St Giles Crescent Surgery, but did not contact The General Medical Council as he is near retirement age so didn’t wish to expend any further time on him. I am a Secondary School teacher and would definitely suggest anyone requiring a home visit have witnesses present where he is concerned. Dr Alstead is a loose cannon, and extremely untrustworthy.

Worst Dr surgery in Wrexham. Staff rude, doctor no interest what so ever, poor practice all round. Looking for an alternative GP.
