Blaina Medical Practice

There's a problem with some of the entrenched front-line staff. They are too long in a job that has left them bitter and seemly able to change behaviour/practice policy to suit them and their mood. This behaviour has provided barrier to care that have been damaging. I also have issues with a female Dr not reading my notes correctly (this could possibly be down to misinformation being passed along the chain of command or just mistake) and failing to issue correct medications as a result.. I'm not saying practice is rotten to the core but there are enough bad apples there to make it an unpleasant and worrying medical practice to deal with. this is a crying shame as some of the care I had revived there has been top notch.. unfortunately due to either a worryingly poor flow of information that lead to me being told "the practice doesn't do such and and such" - when they have done such for me recently and on many previous occasions - a tertiary reading of my notes lasting longer than 30seconds would have shown this and its a choice which apart from being laissez-faire on the part of the front line staff and the dr who apparently read my notes left me in severe pain for 4 days.. as a result I can no longer trust blaina medical practice to act in my best interests.

Well what can I say about this surgery....? 1 you can never get through to get an appointment, but when you get through they tell you to phone back "Monday" as they have no more appointments available , but when you go in there there isn't a soul in there🤔🤔🤔! When you phone back they tell you again that there's no more available., an when you finally get an appointmeant it's nearly 3wks b4 you can get in to see a doctor! Dont like the fact that the receptionist asks you what's wrong, since when did they get a degree in medicine when all they are is a receptionist!??? You ask to see a doctor not a receptionist! .

They have a catchy catchphrase “call back Monday”

I had a lovely appointment with the practice nurse who was very quick and efficient in diagnosis. The next day was waiting for me as soon as I went in to the surgery . Her efficient diagnosis got me admitted with suspected blood clots x I think her name was either Maria or marcia?.Thank you x

Hello everyone I've been with this surgery all my life over 55 years over the last few years my health has deteriorated mentally and physically I ended up in itu with a perforated bowel and nearly passed away since coming out of hospital I've needed the colostomy bags and accessories that's needed to manage my daily needs I know this sounds backwards but I have to contact fittleworth in west Sussex for the medical products I need they have to contact this surgery for a prescription for them to send the products to me by the courier So on many times the surgery hasn't released the prescription so I don't get the delivery I need and I have to chase things I've been promised by management it won't happen again Ok totally ignored today 29/9/22 the company is now sending out a emergency delivery Again. So this morning I had to ring to get an appointment for my daughter for blood test results. Did the usual 160 tries on redial over half an hour, to get through, got through got the "you will shortly be put through to one of our fully trained medical receptionists, thank you for holding" then the line goes dead. Are you serious!!! You wouldn't mind but they have sent her a compliment slip asking her to book an appointment , what's the betting by the time I get through now again it will be "sorry no appointments left" ring back next Monday . If you can get through to see a dr they are good but honestly you have a better chance of an audience with the Pope.

Been with Blaina all my life, been fortunate not to have to bother these people very often,,I'm now 57 and have an issue, rang last week to make appointment, was told ring back dead on 8 in the morning, due to working I was unable to,, following Wednesday rang dead on 8 o'clock, after redialing 150 times someone answered, horaay I thought,,, explained my problem only to be told,,, ring back next Monday,,, NO I CAN'T I'M WORKING NEXT MONDAY!!!SHOCKING

Really wouldn't risk staying with this surgery any longer hard to get appointments and then when you finally get through the service you get is unbelievable and if u need an appointment for a child it's really hard to get one without fighting will definitely be moving as soon I find a surgery closer to us
