Johnsons The Cleaners

Been my choice of dry cleaner for a few years now. Service great and you can often park outside to drop off/pick up. They also have a branch on the trading estate that do a great job on rugs etc.

I took one of my favourite dresses here after I had spilt red wine down it at a party. As I had already taken it to a different dry cleaners, who had failed to remove the stain, I wasn't particularly optimistic the stain could be removed. However, after taking it here the dress looked exactly as it had when I had first bought it two years ago. Excellent and quick service, I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Great business model that makes dry cleaning easy for those commuting to London. I have an account so I can drop off clothes through a hatch as I walk to the station. It's normally done within 24 hours as standard. Pricing is OK.

I got married on 15th July sadly my wedding dress had a small amount of red wine on it, It had splattered a little way down the dress. Family saw and doused it with a little white wine to try and control it and it worked to some degree, My dress was left with a small amount of pink staining. The next day (16th July) I took my wedding dress straight into Johnsons and was greeted by a man who had a little look at it for me. He confirmed looking at the label that he wasn't sure it could be dry cleaned and we agreed to do a light wash but try and treat the wine stain to get it out. I signed a disclaimer to say it's okay to do that, they said they were quite busy and that they will try get it done later that day. I left the dry cleaners got home and thought about it, I placed a call to johnsons a lady answered the phone i said to her my name and ticket number and told her NOT to wash the dress and to leave it as I'm going to call the dress shop that I brought it from to seek professional advice, she said okay thats fine call us back when you have spoken to them. I then phoned Isabella Grace Bridal shop where my dress was purchased and got advice from them, whilst I'm on the phone Johnsons tried phoning me, I call them straight back to have the conversation and the same lady tells me it's too late it's in the wash!! I said what I was going to call you. Why??? I then go in after 2 days to then collect it. My wedding dress now has black splodges from the top to bottom across the dress in places where wine hadn't even touched, they assured me they may not be able to remove the wine stains, But now i have been told they didn't treat my wedding dress correctly and I needed to find out what they had done. The reason I now have black staining is because they have used the wrong chemicals causing this as a reaction. And when it comes to wine you only really get one shot at it.

My Wedding dress has been looked at by a specialist and they have confirmed that the staining "has been locked in" and now theres nothing no one can do about it.

The amount of emotions I am feeling towards this is unreal. It's my WEDDING DRESS that is well and truly rewind. The damage is done and theres no changing it.

Completely heartbroken.

If you have a wedding dress do not go here. look into things further seek propper advice. Don't let them work on it. Take your money far to quickly and show lack of care.

I expect to see a '"professional" response to this because there will be public viewing this. So I guess they have to show something.

But I can not tell you how bad my experience has truly been. So go elsewhere.

Also would the lady who answered the phone not have just got my dress and place it to the side and wait for me to hear what to do next. She confirmed it wasn't in the wash then went ahead anyway without my consent over the phone.

Went in with my other half coz he needed his suit day cleaned for work; less than4 hours to get it sorted! So grateful for the rush they put on this, and the people in there were so warm and friendly. Defo will return.
