Ayt Dry Cleaners

Found some expensive items that needed dry cleaning after a clear out and thought I’d try this place. Had also recently purchased some jeans that were too long and never been worn, maybe a week old, so decided to test the water so to speak. Took a bagful of items in and asked for a dry cleaning service. One item was a little grimey but asked them to do their best, another item had dog hair on but just needed that removing and a general clean. Was told dog hair would cost me extra on top of normal service price! I assumed a dry cleaners were meant to clean items for customers within the fee they charge!? I let them know I thought that was a little peculiar and was greeted with the guys having a chat in their own language, followed by being given the same answer I was contesting. I started to have the thought someone was trying it on but needed the items cleaned so went with it. Next we came to the jeans which needed alterations, a new pair never worn or used and an old pair too long. Told the guy I had them at a length of 32” but needed them 30”, to which I was told that makes no sense. Apparently they don’t sell clothes in these size guide lines and was looked at like I was crazy. After a little awkward back and forth, the guy produced a tape measure and checked my size, don’t think he understood I just wanted 2” less length even though I’d told him as much. The guy suggested a size fix and as I was becoming frustrated, just agreed with his ‘expert’ recommendation. Needless to say, picked up items and the stuff was cleaned nicely, albeit for that ‘extra charge’ but the alterations were far too short, I suspect shorter than originally agreed. The guy barely spoke when handing the items over but once I’d gotten them home and checked I realised how bad it was. Brand new item purchased with alterations on top and complete loss of money and time. I couldn’t possibly recommend this place and customer service wasn’t anything to write home about either. Over priced, argumentative, not overly fast service and suspicion of them attempting to add some extra charges on top of regular fees has made me decide never to go back. Wish I’d tried somewhere else as I’d still have my jeans and not wasted money buying and ‘fixing’ something I’ll never get to use.

Ayt is great. He is nice guy and always on time with my jackets : )

Dry cleaning is very poor. All clothing was shrunk and whites came back cream.

The work is usually good but the prices are a little high especially for the arrangements.
