High Commission of Canada in the United Kingdom

The worst embassy I have ever dealt with. Waiting 4 months for a response for visitor visa. Processing times originally stated 15 days then updated to 43. We are well passed the time now! No telephone number to ring. No replies to any emails or webforms raised. Repeatedly emailed with URGENT in subject bar and flights tickets included for proof only to be ignored! Missed our holiday to Canada now and lost out on our flights / accom. Insurance doesn't cover the cost. AVOID CANADA AT ALL COSTS!

Who would thin a Canadian with a British wife would have to wait 78 days for a travel document? We applied Aug 6 for an expensive flight leaving today! No communication, no phone number. We followed the confusing website and delivered to a ‘tee’ - and -
Mtg granddaughter born to Canadian parents in london got a British passport for the baby in three weeks - but have been told the baby needs to wait 23 months for the baby’s Canadian passport. I am proudly Canadian - but this aspect of Canada is a disgrace

I have waited 4 months for my straight forward visitor visa application. I tried to call, email and submit webform, many times. I got no response back and my trip is in September. I paid 1000 euro already but now I might have to lose it all.
I had a good impression about Canada but this interaction is absolutely dreadful.

Update: still no visa. Almost 6 months now. Cancelled trip. Cancelled PTO. Lost all the money and my insurance won't cover it. What a disgrace

Very low service standards, no communication, they take away application processing fee but don't bother about your application and you.
Worst embassy I've ever seen.
You feel so helpless after you apply for a visa

Had one of our passports stolen while out eating. The lady who helped us get our passport back was the nicest most helpful person on the planet. Thank you so much for all your care and support.

This institution is not Canada's embassy. It is Canada's shame. Needed to get Permanent Resident Travel Document urgently. 6 weeks later, no response at all. Ended up travelling via the US and land border. A similar application for a different person was processed at Paris embassy in less than 2 weeks. Oh... and when I asked them to withdraw my application and refund the 50 CAD processing fee, they happily agreed to withdraw but provided no refund as "processing already started." Avoid at all costs.

I used to think that Canada is a better country than the USA but unfortunately Canada is as difficult and unwelcoming as their neighbours. For a simple tourist visa, they make you sit for hours filling out forms in a very clunky website, then they charge you over £100 for your own time, then they force you to take time off work to go to a local 3rd party agency, where the staff speaks to people with a condescending tone that resembles soldiers yelling at POWs, and when you finally reach the appointment they send you back home if you didn’t print out all paperwork they inundate your inbox with. My time is precious to me, and so is my dignity. I deserve to be treated with respect especially given that all I wanted is to have a good time travelling the beautiful country Canada seems to be. And spend money there. As a result, I will just cancel my flights and go somewhere where I am more welcome. Canada: Don’t be like them. You can do better. You should do better.
