The Corner House

We wanted to get a good steak for lunch and on our first visit to Canterbury discovered the corner house. What a place, the staff were lovely and we enjoyed the best meal we’ve had in a long time. Hats off to the chef - the food was wonderful. Home made mushroom and tomato ketchup was a nice addition. The restaurant itself was lovely, quaint and well presented. An amazing experience overall, glad to have been and would most certainly go again. Excellent.

Great for a special birthday meal, lovely touch to have a card on the table although the candle in a pudding didn't appear! Great food, staff and atmosphere, just tiny attentions to detail needed... clean cutlery, clean highchair BUT the treacle bread is out of this world! Could have eaten that for starter, main and dessert!!

We had a meal here a few weeks ago, a Sunday. I had the roast beef and have to say it was excellent, we really enjoyed everything about the place, service and the meal.

We visited again last Sunday and again, I had the beef as did my friend as I had mentioned how much I enjoyed the beef on my last visit. Unfortunately, it went downhill from here. The beef was so stringy (sinews?} it was quite difficult to cut. I eventually worked my way through but my friend left most of the beef on the plate. Chewing was a challenge and not a pleasant one, to say the least. Very disappointing and not an experience I would wish to repeat. I can safely say, this is my last visit!

Not a bad place, but not brilliant. Two of us had the pork main and the mash and gravy were hugely over salted (like the chef hadn't bothered to even taste it). We mentioned this but weren't convinced our complaint was taken seriously.

I booked the restaurant for 17 people and we all had a wonderful evening.

Our guests were delighted. The food was exceptional, and the service was brilliant.

Thanks must be given to Ops Manager Emma, she made the whole process pain free and easy. Often organising trips can be hard work - you made it a pleasure and were so flexible and amenable - Thank you.

We had a fantastic meal and experience.

The food was fresh and delicious, and I'd like to add that the staff were incredibly accommodating. I'm a difficult guest as I have lots of food intolerances, but the chef even adapted a few of the sauces to cater for me, meaning I didn't have to order the usual steak and chips! 10/10

I had the lunch menu deal. The steak was amazing cooked exactly right to my Med-Rare and very filling. The homemade Ketchup felt like real tomatoes and the Mustard was sweet. The staff member that was with me was friendly and very accommodating with my switch out of chips for Dauphine potatoes. Her smile and the warm atmosphere with the contemporary yet rustic aesthetic made for a lovely early evening dinner Had sorbet and ice cream for desert and they were also sublime.

This restaurant was amazing from the moment you walked through the door. The decor was simplistic, which allowed the highlight, the food to do the talking!! Every course we had was incredible, and it was clear to see the passion the Chef had for his menu. The staff were polite, friendly, and very attentive. It's the first time my partner and i have dined here, but it most certainly won't be the last! Thank you for kicking out New Years Eve off to a fantastic start 😀.
