Our friend booked our room as part of a wedding celebration. We arrived lunch time and was allowed to check in early, great as we changed for the wedding. Comfortable clean room, everything we needed. Loved the large bath. Had a splendid breakfast, hot, we eat every bit. To add the staff were so friendly and of good cheer. So thankyou. We stayed just one night, would have stayed longer and would recommend.

Saturday Morning Breakfast!

The food was unlimited and cooked to order and tasted lovely. We really enjoyed taking our coffees outside after we'd eaten and enjoyed the lovely garden to the rear! 🙂

I just want to say that the staff were lovely and friendly, especially the General Manager Emma. She couldn't do enough for you, so polite and professional! 😊

The Stanhope also offer a generous loyalty scheme as well! 👍

Thank you and see you again soon!

Enjoyed a delicious evening meal here with fast service. The food was excellent and would recommend coming. Great for families, couples, and the elderly.

Not the best, we went two months ago for a Sunday roast and it was amazing, but this time the the turkey and the gammon was dry, and the roast potatoes were cold. The young man who showed us to our table didn't provide any drawing crayons, which doesn't sound like the end of the world until I have to get up and request them. We weren't asked how our meal was and given that the restaurant was extremely quiet, the food and deserts took abit longer than expected to arrive. My desert was advertised as being warm but it wasn't and neither was the 'cold water' I requested.

We visited on a Sunday to celebrate a 40th Wedding Anniversary with 24 family members, including Adults and Children.
Most of our party had the Sunday dinner, the rest was of the Main Menu, with a few special requests. Everything was spot on
Service was excellent thank you

Nice selection on menu.
Food tasted off so reported this. Small portions too this would be fine if they were big on flavour. Just below average pub grub on a small scale.
Decor dated and needs a good deep clean. Cobwebs and food splats on ceiling, beams falling down.

Nice place for a drink but wouldn't rush back for the main menu food.

Christmas dinner was disgusting. None of us enjoyed any of the courses. Nothing tasted fresh, the meat tasted processed, everything was cheap. I can honestly say the worse meal I have ever had. Extremely dissapointing. Shadow of its former self.... do better or close.

Went for Christmas dinner, was very disappointed! Table was booked for 2pm we had to wait over an hour for our starters to come out and when they did they were a very poor standard. We then were made to wait another hour for our main, which again was to a very poor standard, meals weren't all brought out at the same time, there were mistakes with the meals and there was a lot of food items missing because they had ran out of food. The few bits of food we did get were cold and unedible, the service from staff was shocking and very unhelpful. Can safely say out Christmas dinner was ruined and a complete disaster due to poor service and organisation!
