South London Sling Library

I heard about the South London Sling Library from friends and was keen to invite Emily to a local NCT playgroup. It was fantastic to have her in a familiar setting and she quickly brought us up to speed about all the different types of carriers.

I really loved carrying my baby but the structured carrier I owned was uncomfortable and I knew she would outgrow our stretchy wrap quickly. I was keen to try woven wraps and alternative structured carriers. After my first carrier hire, I was keen to go back and try more! One can quickly become addicted...

SLSL's Sarah is extremely helpful! She gives excellent expert advice. I have had a disc replaced in my neck and she was able to show me the way to tie a wrap so there is not too much pressure on my neck.

Hiring a wrap or carrier is a really nice way to get familiar with carrying your baby and trying before you buy. Or simply hire for as long as you need. I have hired multiple wraps and a carrier with great success.

Highly recommend booking a consultation, so you can use a wrap/carrier with confidence. She provides manuals with each wrap/carrier, but it is really good to have confirmation that your baby is secure and safe.

Sarah is quite brilliant. You need a bit of knowhow to use a sling and Sarah has so much knowledge - we wouldn’t have been able to do it without her guidance. It is a brilliant way of being mobile with your child and makes our daughter so much happier than time spent in the stroller. I can’t recommend it enough.

I'm so glad I went to see Sarah at the sling library. We had a couple of carriers given to us but one seemed fiddly and I had thought our son had grown out of the other. I was also cautious post c-section and have had back and shoulder problems from frequently bouncing our 6-week old to sleep or to soothe him. I talked through what I needed a carrier/sling for and the above. Sarah showed me how best to attach the carriers we had, and it turns out one is not suitable as it can't be adjusted enough to meet the TICK safety guidelines. Invaluable to know.

I tried a couple more carriers and found one I liked that I've since bought via FB Marketplace and bought a ring sling there which has really changed my day-to-day! I gives me a lot freedom both in the house (both arms back!) and to make trips locally that I used to dread as my baby can cry quite a bit in his pram. I've also bought another one of these from FB too for use when the other is in the wash.

Sarah’s sling library and consultations are invaluable to get the most out of carriers/slings for your baby. She’s extremely knowledgeable and helped us identify the best sling that worked for us and our newborn. She helped with ensuring the fit was correct to safety carry our newborn and her follow up email and links to videos are so helpful to refer to after the consultation.

Highly recommend for anyone wishing to keep their baby close to them using slings or carriers!

Sarah was incredibly helpful in our mini session, answering all my questions and showing me demos to demonstrate how to use different carriers. I thought it may be tricky to have a consultation online but it was actually a lot more convenient, and I felt I got the same information I needed. Sarah was also really accommodating with times as I had a last minute change, and provided helpful info via email. Highly recommend!
