Secretts of Milford

We are a regular visitors to Secretts. We enjoy returning for the quarterly, seasonal events, full of food, music and most importantly, the experience!
This time, we have been to PYO asparagus, because we were curious how asparagus grows. On our way through the fields, we came across a lot of other produce, like a 🥬 or a pheasant running around. Came back with an asparagus quiche, Howkins Bro elderflower and pink bubbly 🍷 , Godminster 🧀, Bon Bon’s 🍬 and some obligatory lamb chops, 🥩 and sausages. A brief chat with Greg, the 4th generation owner about days on the farm and how things going, was lovely, too.
We hope visitors enjoy the farm as much as we continuously do. We will be back for 🌽 festival,
🎃 or 🍓 fest 👍

My goodness me! I'd heard about this place, but not visited before. Now I've been I must say it is quite lovely! Massive choice of fruit and veg and many other foods including fresh baked loaves. Nearby there's the butcher's shop, somewhere to pick up UK wines and a glorious cafe (Tuesday to Saturday). Go see for yourself.

Brilliant home grown selections, the best cheese counter and we love the freezer section where we can pick from so many types of frozen pastries to bake fresh.

Lucky to have this locally.

Fantastic Place. We love visiting for the seasonal events. Always very well organised with lots of little additions to make a great family day out. Lots of tasty, fresh produce and super friendly staff. Thanks for another great Halloween event Secretts! 🥰

We spontaneously visited for the first time yesterday to pick our pumpkins and it was absolutely AMAZING! It was all thoughtfully laid out, with plenty of space to enjoy the spooky trail to the pumpkin patch and such great value! Our little girl, who is almost 2, really enjoyed it all! Will definitely be making it an annual event! Thankyou again

Secretts, the worst kept secret in the area. When we were looking to move to our area all the agents would put on the house descriptions, “Near to the world famous Secretts” we had no idea what it was.

Then we went, and do not go here unless you are feeling in a controlled mood, the first time we came here we went mental and got so many goodies, we have learnt that there has to be an element of control unless your feeling particularly flush.

The quality of the products is not being brought into question in the slightest, and neither is their offering, they offer all kinds of scrumptious goodies not to be found elsewhere.

Point in case, this visit we went to the butchers as we intended to get some nice steaks, got a nice cowboy and a ribeye. Then went to the shop and found some nice beers, a bottle of red to go with the steaks for the missus, a large pork pie and some fancy relish. I’m not going to say what it set us back, but it wasn’t cheap, but hey if you can’t treat yourself at the weekend, when can you…

I attended the shop today and I am so glad that I did. They have re-arranged a few sections and it looks really lovely. The cheese counter is spectacular and they are all clearly labelled as to whether or not they are vegetarian. The variety is very impressive and the people who were behind the counter today were knowledgeable, friendly and they did not pester people as they looked at the cheese. I appreciated this because it is very distracting when one is trying to choose a few cheeses and someone is bothering you by asking too many questions. This never happens at Secretts and the members of staff are able to answer questions properly.

I do not usually purchase any ready-made foods, but today I did because the Coronation chicken as well as the potato salad looked absolutely delicious. For people who have a sweet tooth, there are plenty of sweets available, including an eclectic selection of small jellybeans.

I usually purchase the fruits and the vegetables. The strawberries which were available today were wonderful. The taste was extraordinary and they were absolutely perfect. I usually buy the multi-coloured salad leaves, watercress and rocket. The shop also sells multi-coloured tomatoes. The only drawback is that I spent an exorbitant sum of money, which is attributable to the high cost of everything which is sold at Secretts.Everything is very fresh and the range of raw foods are exceptionally impressive. I do concede that the food is of a very high quality and the service is excellent. Every single time I attend, there is something new to enjoy.

***I attended this place again in August 2021. Again, I was extremely impressed with the members of staff, such as the people behind the cheese counter as well as the deli counter. The woman behind the deli counter was knowledgeable and I valued her opinion because she was so enthusiastic about her product.***
