We, along with other guests, were abandoned by our hosts and had paid for activities that did not take place. Furthermore, the fact that there was little to no contact or information provided, along with broken promises, resulted in our only full day being completely wasted as we were unable to make other arrangements. Eventually we gave up on the owners contacting us and left the campsite, but in the vain hope that the goat feeding would go ahead as promised
The weekend was a special occasion for us, celebrating my partners birthday, and the first time we had alone, away from our demanding 2 Yr old.
We had no contact from the owners for days, even after we left, despite various messages that went unread
Additionally, we believe the site was mis-sold to us. 1) The 'bountiful complimentary hamper was two bags of crisps and a couple of oat cakes.
2) The 'Hotel worthy double bed' was an uncomfortable mattress on an uneven floor. No sign of a 'bed'.
3) The hot water was not refilled throughout the stay and there was no accompanying milk to allow us to enjoy a tea or coffee. 4) the 'handmade biscuits' were no to be found. Unless you count the Biscoff biscuits. 5) the wood burner was left full of old used wood which made the tent smell 6) the fire pit was unusable as the owners were not around to provide wood nor were they responding to numerous messages. 7) we ordered a lunch hamper which we did not receive 8) the ad states we 'won't need to leave the farm as we explore the farm and nursery'. The facilities took all of 15 minutes to explore, and thats without rushing through. The barn was out of bounds, but this was not explained in advance and only learned second hand. 9) no information provided to us on the local quarry walk or countryside. An activity promoted in the ad. Again could not ask for information as the owners were seemingly uninterested in their customers' needs. 10) using trick photography the tents were advertised to look much more spacious than they actually were.
The fresh water was not topped up during our stay, toilet facilities were left dirty with even a used tampon left on the side and not cleaned. Toilet role was not replaced in the toilets either.
An ongoing complaint is in process and the owners continue to avoid us and the situation. A disgusting and unprofessional approach to running a business.
I DO NOT recommend anyone book this venue, unless you like to be ignored.

The below comments are inaccurate. Something I would expect from an unprofessional outfit. While they did lose a family member, something we have expressed sympathy over, we were abandoned for the duration of our stay. NORMAL SERVICE DID NOT RESUME!!!. We were unable to reach ANYONE for the remainder of our stay or even see anyone. Dont know who the friends are they refer to.
Furthermore, it is untrue that 3/4 guests left good reviews. The couple next to us also expressed their frustration and left an equally appropriate review based on their experiences. Please see Pitchup.com reviews 12th July

Ignorant! Visited here for a special occasion and were deeply unsatisfied. First night, asked for advice on food around the area that delivered - it is very out of the way and a lot of delivery drivers didn’t know where we were! Thankfully we found one, as our message was ignored. The barn was closed off to the public which we found out from other guests - no notification about this from any staff member. We had booked (and paid) for things to do and were left again IGNORED and waiting around all morning for contact. We never received any contact and finally decided on venturing out in to town as there was nothing else to do. Advert advises ‘you won’t have to leave the site if you don’t want to’ The only thing to do is a 5 minute walk around the lake and fishing - as long as you have the gear with you, as they just ignore messages again for renting any fishing gear. Lunch hamper ordered, never happened and again no communication. This was a birthday trip and I spent most of my birthday waiting around for a response. Unanswered phone calls and unanswered messages. We have been messaging about these issues now for over a month and are still being ignored! What a terrible way to run a business. SCAMMERS. AVOID

The couple next to us were just as frustrated as we were and left a 4 out of 10 star review on pitch up, after coming to ask us if we had heard anything from anybody as they couldn’t contact anybody either. We literally didn’t see anybody all weekend, so the ‘friends that helped out’ must have ran off as well… this company aren’t taking bookings on pitch up as they were taken off because they wouldn’t respond to that company either. Really? Just accept you messed up and stop making your CUSTOMERS out to be liars!

Amazing experience, a right laugh! Hosts are so welcoming, helpful and go out if there way to make sure you are comfortable! Great glamping experience, definitely recommend.
