The table setting was lovely and although we were away from the window with the views, we were happy and were served our drinks. Although there was a draught Guinness pump on the bar, it wasn't available so made do with a can. Everyone else had what they wanted.
The menu is relatively simple but professional and 'fine dining' looking. We ordered three starters to share between five of us and it was sufficient with the delicious garlic bread.
I ordered the sirloin steak (photo) and one of my sons ordered the mushroom linguine (photo) whilst two had the burger which they both said was excellent and my wife had the hake dish which she said was delicious. She was particularly happy with the risotto with cockles which came with it.
All in all a lovely evening. Not low-cost but certainly worth it for a celebration. Our server (forgot to ask his name) was very professional and always available. Thank you.
Staff were lovely and professional, checking up on us frequently throughout the meal while also having good knowledge of ingredients that you were being served as part of the meal.
Overall food was really nice. The highlight of my meal were the Mussels, which may just be the best Mussels I have had in a long time. They did not skimp on the portion size even for a starter, and they may have been the biggest Mussels I have ever had!
Sadly, the Belly Pork put a downer on the meal for me with its rubbery texture and laxi of Veg with old rinkled Roasties. The Belly Pork should be crispy and believe it was sat around a while before being served. The Chocolate Fondant was really tasty with a lovely gooey centre, but I do wish it was a little bigger as I could have had two of them.
I would visit again, but I'd probably try something for Sunday Lunch unless they can perfect the Belly Pork.
Nonetheless the waiters were helpful when I asked about the dishes and reccomendations, I have to add the language skills the gentleman had, pleased to speak in Spanish with someone!
Dishes were served on a Sunday:
Starter-
Calamari
Main-
Beef
Dessert-
Chocolate lava cake with vainilla ice cream
Would definitely come back, I reccomend!
