Ordered an item in time for Christmas 2014. Received dispatch note (but no tracking) on 22nd December. Item never arrived.

Called in in first week of January to request refund, was told by Daniel this would happen. Still awaiting refund (13th January) having chased on 9th January by email and then again today when I was told "it takes 2-3 days for us to process a refund [why?!] and then a further 3 days for the bank to process" and "we don't handle payments". Which seems remarkably slow and convoluted for an eCommerce retailer.

Additionally, not a single one of my emails sent to Daniel (the owner) from December to the second week of January chasing this up was ever responded-to. The manner of the staff in-store and on the phone is has been universally surly and and unwelcoming. No apology for the delays, lost delivery or the unanswered emails was ever forthcoming.

I am astounded that businesses like this continue to trade in spite of such poor service. This is not the first time i've encountered the poor experience of Galleon and would strongly suggest using other stove retailers which are fortunately expanding across London as the popularity of solid fuel increases.

Each part of this review is factual and I stand by this review of my experience completely. Even if a refund is eventually issued it will not mollify me sufficiently to recommend this company.

I really would avoid. Had a couple of fireplaces fitted. Pleased with them initially. After a year one started falling off the wall. Approached Galleon and they told us it would be £250 to re fit it. Not best pleased. A proper builder had a look at it and showed us that the box and the mantle didn't fit - and that the surround was largely glued. Considering going to small claims court - but not sure if worth the effort.

Electric Fire purchased in June, it started to smell of burning after 1st time use in October. Customer Service was appalling, extremely rude and because the item was damaged by THEIR courier during the item being returned, I have been refused a repair or refund and I was told to arrange collection of the damaged Fire or they will destroy it. Absolutely shocking!!!!

Not sure where they are getting a 5 star review from!! Customer service is awful never answer the phone no matter what option you choose, they cant be that busy.
Ordered a log holder it arrived badly damaged!! After numerous e mails & photograhs sent they said it would ne collected today 17th jan . no time given so a day off work!. Stayed in all day its 16.30 no sign of a courier....
No answer on there number & no reply to my message
I can see this going nowhere.
Purchased from them through e bay, will report to e bay ive read some really bad reviews on different sites .Avoid at all cost is my advice !! Do not be fooled lime i was by 5* reveiws

DO NOT SEND MONEY TO THIS COMPANY - I ordered fireplace polish from them, didn't arrive, chased three times, email and phone, they said they'd sent it twice by post, finally they said it was out of stock and they'd refund my credit card - chased this twice, guess what.

Now I've got to try to recover this money from my credit card, but as it's under £100, I may or may not get it back.

DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT

UPDATE - after chasing them again, they have now refunded my money.

Simply took my money without any commitment to actually delivering the product. Have called many many times and never does anyone pick up, have also emailed without any response. Zero communication from Galleon apart from automated emails. Currently filing dispute with PayPal to reclaim my money. Cowboys and fraudsters.

Galleon fitted a gas fire 2 years ago and we were very pleased with the fire and the service. A year after being fitted we had a problem where the fire kept cutting out. I arranged with Galleon to have a look. The first two occasions they did not turn up (after I phoned them) telling me they were busy (even though I had arranged time off work) When they did eventually turn up I paid them £150 to put a new part in and a service. 10 mins after they left the fire cut out !!! When I phoned straight back I was told it would need another part and more money !! We needed it repaired so told them to order the part and 4 months on we are still waiting. I have now used an independent gas fitter to repair it. I would not recommend this company to anyone. An awful after care service.

No response either to an e-mail or phone. Item that I have ordered is so far not yet delivered, and not able to get in touch to check if despatched. Avoid at all cost.
Update: This is now almost a month since my purchase. No item received, no communication, no answer on the emails or phone. I have launched resolution through PayPal and hopefully recover my cash.
Please avoid they are bunch of criminals and thieves and should be prosecuted.
