Marinos Fish Bar HART STREET !! (LOCKMEDOW)

Came here last week for the first time in ages. Great chips and the batter on the fish bites was the best I’ve had in a while - nice and crispy and fresh tasting! Sausage and saveloy weren’t bad either. Guys behind the counter were welcoming and up for a chat which was nice. Good to see this place is still going strong after so many years.

Best fish& chip shop around ….beautifully cooked food …always fresh …generous portions…always hot and cooked then and there …brilliant friendly staff …who are happy to have a chat …and a bit of banter ..a lovely couple ….who make you feel welcome..we will be back again soon …as we will only only use you 💕

Top quality food, well cooked and served with a smile with no single use plastic in sight.
Even better, I walked passed the golden arched place to get there.

Quality, classic fish and chips. Nice staff.

I was very disappointed with this place. The fish was over cooked, hard around the edges because of this and grey, the chips were undercooked…hard, the onion rings were very undercooked..tasted of raw batter..and everything was extremely greasy….it went in the bin. Even the cat wouldn’t eat the fish. Yuck. I reviewed on JustEat and they left a reply which has been bugging me ever since. They said I reviewed them by mistake and I was thinking of somewhere else, with a laughing emoji like it was funny I was so thick. This is impossible as I didn’t order from anywhere else and JustEat give you the option to review only from the place you ordered food from! Rude, telling me they had 31 years experience…well one would think that they could cook a bit of fish and some chips very well by now then…apparently not! It’s that kind of response that makes people boycott places. Which I will. Never again. If you accept that mistakes are made and apologise then that’s one thing, but to accuse your customers of basically being stupid and wrong is out of order. Terrible. If I could give no stars I would.
Update…you can all see the reply…I rest my case. Do they think I’m lying? What would that achieve? Why didn’t I bring it in to show them…because I am housebound ….why didn’t I contact them..because I left a review instead and frankly didn’t see the point in calling them as I didn’t want any more food from them to replace the horrible stuff they sent out..trust gone! They also said it couldn’t have been them I ordered from because I ordered at 4:45pm but they don’t open until 5:00pm…it’s called ordering in advance, an option sometimes provided. You would think they know that. They obviously will say anything to divert attention from the content of my very honest review.
I repeat..the food was inedible, grey overcooked fish..so over cooked that the batter had pulled away from the fish on one side, and raw chips and onion rings, like really raw. If they say they cook the chips and fish and the same time then I can only call BS on that….what is the fish sitting in the cases then? That’s already cooked! This must have been sitting out for a while to be so disgusting. My granddaughter could have made a better job of cooking this and she is 9. Rude people who don’t except their mistakes. How awful to talk to a customer like they have..well an ex customer now. Anything else Marinos? Bring it on….

The best fish & chip shop in Maidstone! They cook the food fresh and the service is friendly and efficient. You won’t regret a trip to eat here it’s amazing!

Absolute delicious food!! Beautifully battered cod and large portions, chips chunky and full of flavour.. really recommend this place to anyone!!!
