Excellent food, service and communication, and the staff are lovely!
We pre-ordered approx 70 portions of fish & chips and 50 portions of sausage & chips (battered and plain) for a staff lunch in December. Michael went out of his way to deliver the food to us, and it arrived on time, all correct and most importantly hot. All of the team enjoyed the food and commented on how big the portions were. We wouldn't hesitate to use again.

Chips are excellent and not dripping with oil like most chip shops. Staff are friendly and service was quick. You certainly get a decent sized portion of chips with your order. Sausages and fish is really nice too.

First time we’ve tried The Chippy, but definitely not the last. We had to wait for the fish to be cooked but that wasn’t a problem. The batter was crispy, it was a very generous size and the portion of chips were sufficient for two people (and a few scraps for our dog). Thoroughly recommended.

Lovely chippy, chips were crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside. Fish was fried fresh and to perfection, the batter complimented the fish really well, nice subtle flavour with the fresh oil. The portions size was very generous. I have found my new local chippy! Keep up the great work.

Absolutely amazing service and food. Ordered for our wedding day and considering the amount of people we ordered for it was piping hot. Everyone mentioned how good it was

Friendly new management have renovated the shop, it's a pleasure to go in. There is now an app to order and collect and new items on the menu. Calamari yumm!
Huge portions, served in cardboard boxes. This may make them a bit more expensive than other chippies (as one reviewer pointed out) but I prefer to pay for quality.
The best fish and chips in the area.

Probably some of the best chips I've ever had. But let's not beat around the bush here. It does come at a hefty price. I got a regular haddock and chips came to £8.20. The biggest problem with that was the haddock. It was extremely thin. In my opinion it was so thin I wouldn't dare call it a fillet. I would however call it a slice. The fish was cooked right and what I could taste was nice. But the fish to batter ratio was completely off. The batter although very tasty and not at all greasy and very fresh. Was much thicker. Now I know this mght be an old skool way of thinking. But I light a batter with my fish not fish fish with my batter. I am obviously prepared to give this place another chance. Next time I'll get cod. I was trying to please my gf. It worked for all of 5 minutes. In time I will revisit and possibly re review. But for now this is as much as I'm prepared to give. I am after all a big fish n chip fanatic.
