Definitely the best Fish & Chip shop I have ever been to.
Always well cooked and the fish is always fresh and when they say large, they mean it.
Well worth a visit :-)
The chips are sometimes golden, sometimes anaemic. A picture of my very small 'large' portion is attached.
Surely it's not beyond the wit of man to produce consistently good fish and chips. For pitty sake the menu only has two items on it..... Fish and chips.
Please try harder Carp and Trout before our local chippy is lost forever.
We wanted two Pies but they could offer us only one (this was around 20:20). We decided not to add a battered sausage as it looked like it was dripping in grease. What should have been an awesome Pukka Chicken and Mushroom pie was a Mary Berry Soggy Bottom pie (soggy sides also) with the crust like an Iron Cast plate. The Chips were somehow over done and under done at the same time (Harry Potter magic). The curry sauce came out in one piece like it was jelly
After all that, it’s not worth going in - only to be faced by the most miserable person (who served).
Note that at present they are taking only 'phone orders, not accepting orders from people walking in (to avoid people gathering in the shop). You 'phone the order then go round to collect (or they can deliver), waiting outside the shop until your order is ready.
