The Trawlerman Fish and Chips

I didn't like fish and chips until I tried Trawlerman Fish and Chips. Very good batter, crispy but not too oily. Chips was also really good. Very decent portions. Curry sauce goes so well with the fish, not too strong but very good addition.

I ordered their lunch fish and chips deal, £5.50. For that price, I expected small tray of fish and chips (inflation these days and this is London after all). Instead, I was given a PROPER-SIZED fish and chips! Cooked fresh to go. VALUE FOR MONEY, would highly recommend.

It was a tiny 🤏🏽 portion of chips and the batter was over done BUT I don't mind when it's extra crispy😁...I do feel it was a little over priced though 💰 Especially with all this cost of living crisis n all that! 🤬
But it is Highbury & Islington I suppose.
Also, had to wait ages for the food but it was quite empty when I visited 🤷‍♂️

Would I go back!??! 🤔

My favourite place for fish and chips. Offer Monday -Thursday £5.20. £6.50 with drink.

We’ve used The Trawlerman 5 or 6 times and had consistently delicious fish and chips each time. Keep up the standard!

Delicious chips and cooked really well. I popped in just by chance and chatted to the friendly staff whilst I waited - I like my chips a little crispy!

I would like to see more vegan options like fried tofu or some vegan sausages aswell please.

I'll be adding this to my list of places to get chips in North London!

This restaurant must have changed hands since the positive reviews. The food was terrible and the chips were rubbery and tasted frozen. The fish overcooked and batter greasy. Very disappointing.
