Stantons Fish & Chips

Friendly staff and first class service. I have had better fish and chips but had lots worse too. Probably second best in Durham but far cheaper than the other one. Chips were well cooked, battered fish was nice, chunky cod full of flavour only slightly let down by the size of the fish under the batter. But overall nice. Would definitely buy again.

Ordered two fish and chips and a small meal for my daughter. I placed the order at midday and was given an estimated delivery time of 1.55pm which is fair enough on Good Friday. Still not with us by 2.15pm so tried to call; phone constantly engaged so I suspect it's off the hook. Get a text to tell me it's now expected at 3.30pm. Really poor service all round.

Ordered for 9pm on just eat. Arrived at 9pm hot food amazing only fault for me no salad with parmo and no option to order as a side but food that was delivered is spot on

My go to fish and chip shop. Always tastes beautiful, good quality fish and reasonably priced… although the fish is usually very greasy as you can see from the box… but hey it still gets devoured!🐟.

Ordered food at 8:09pm. On a Tuesday night. 10:10pm rang up as had not received food. Was told “I’m sorry good is out with Driver and will not be long” I said I would like to speak to the manager as 2 hour wait is beyond a joke. Was told manager is not in I will have to ring tomorrow.
10:50pm still no food…
Rang again and was told my order was cancelled as I wanted to speak to the manager.
I never cancelled order and am now sat in the house £20 down and no food.
Person on the phone was rude, lied and couldn’t be arsed.
Wouldn’t recommend, won’t think twice about using in the future.

Great batter taste from years ago. Good size portions and great taste reasonable prices

Got chips ....they looked and tasted like they had been on a weeks holiday ....dried up and rock hard .totally inedible.
