The Jolly Fryer

I was passing by at about 12pm saw only two in the shop being served and lots of parking which as you all know is very unusual.
I wasn’t sure what to have. I was offered the lunchtime fish special 😍😍😍 it’s so good fresh tasty and looks great. You always get real good service from the team they make you feel so welcome 🤗 thanks guys superb as always Xx

Only been here twice and both times it was amazing food and value. Have to leave a review because how how amazing the owner is. Such a nice friendly guy. Works his bloody socks off and I really hope he reaps the rewards for his hard word. Gonna try the dad box next time!!!

So when we visited them me and my suggested trying them for our selves.
Mel and Sue said portion sizes were large, they weren't joking.
Absolutely fantastic.
Fish and chips were gorgeous, cooked to perfection.
We had chips left over and had chip butties the next day for lunch.
Highly recommended.

Usually The Jolly Fryer gets 5 stars for their food too, on this occasion I can't give them that.
The chips and battered chicken pieces were good but the battered sausage was tasteless and its batter was flat, dark and hard, the curry sauce, which normally is nice ñ thick and tasty, was that watery it went straight to the bottom of the tray, dripping off the chips etc hardly leaving any taste.
Could be that they were training someone 🤔, on previous experience I will return for their food and they will hopefully be the best locally again.

Wow, my first time here after trying to find a decent chippy as our local one has gone down hill. Theo, is the jolly fryer and he really is jolly. Introducing me to his customers as his relatives who were equally as jolly. So we had 2 large cod and goodness they were huge, cooked perfectly with some lovely batter. The standard size of Chips was enough for 3. The peas were tasty and not like water. Curry sauce equally as nice. So we've found our chippy and icing on the cake they deliver to my area. You must try this chippy, you won't need disappointed. From Angie or Ang Taylor but not Angela 😂

A good fish an chips with generous portions... I'm not sure what's been happening recently though but the quality of the fish has gone downhill significantly. My fish was off the last two times I've been, with a horrendous acrid ammonia smell.

If the quality of the fish improves drastically then I'll be happy to retun

Saw this place pop up on my social media a few months ago, always thought gotta give this place a try, so made a 30 mile round trip, I wasn't disappointed, first things first you are greeted by very freindly staff, the boss has a real passion for his food and so he should the quality was fantastic, all the staff looked happy got good vibes from them all, the food was amazing, I had the foot long battered pigs in blanket chips tikka kebab yorky pudding and gravy, wow it was amazing! Excellent portion sizes, my missus really enjoyed her fish special with peas and gravy. Will definitely visit again soon! Keep up the good work guys. 😊😊😊😊

Look no further than Jolly Fryer for your fish & chip fix. The menu Theo offers has great variety at good prices and the food is cooked and handled with passion and to perfection! Portion sizes satisfy even the biggest of eaters and the footlongs at christmas are to die for!
I would recommend Theo and his staff members to anybody looking for a top class service with some top class food.
