Jack's Plaice

Ordered 2 x fish and chips here on Friday. Took over an hour to be delivered, and arrived cold. Had to be microwaved. The chips and curry sauce were okay, but the fish was almost non existent, it was basically a big serving of batter..

Very good food, very friendly service, everything cooked fresh, would recommend giving it a try.

Crazy!!
I order from here all the time (well I used to) and the food was OK and the delivery was fast but not TODAY.. Here goes

I ordered a chicken curry and chips in the notes section I wrote - Hot / spicy curry sauce please, when it arrived they sent me the homemade curry sauce (I don't like it) so I rang to ask if they can replace my order.
The person on the phone was very rude and kept interrupting me telling me that it was my fault for not writing "madras" and he won't be re sending my order, he said "my boss will take the money from my wages, I won't have you taking money from my family, I have to feed them" I was shocked to the core.
I said I demand to speak to his manager and I want a refund we went back and forth and I said I will have to bring it back to the store myself and he hung up on me.

Arrived at the store and there was a different person, I put my container on the counter and said I spoke to someone (he picked it up and threw it across the shop into a bin) took £6.50 out of the till threw it on the counter and said "no more from you no more don't bother" I asked what he meant and he said "don't ever order from here again his mother died and he can't be bothered with you, don't ever come back"
I said you have lost a good customer to which he replied
"look buddy I don't give a s£&t about you or anyone, I have plenty of orders look at this screen"
I am now black listed

Disgusting angry people with no service skills I have no time for this, I wish I could attach a recording of what he said to me it's appalling

Usually a great place. But tonight the gave my partner the wrong curry and when he rang he was told he wont get another OR a refund because "it will take food from my kids mouths"
Partner went there for a refund(taking no for an answer) and was met with having his curry thrown across the takeaway, and his refund in his face. All recorded.

Also told that the original man on the phone who didnt offer new food or a refund and mentioned his children had just lost his mum?
Why would that man be on a customer service line after such an ordeal?

That bereaved man was shouting from out the back that were not allowed to order anymore.

Please be careful. It was very stressful and a horrible experience.all because my partner dared ask for the right curry sauce and knew his rights so refused to be told no to a refund.

I ring 5 times and no answer so I wouldn’t try this place

I ordered chip butty and fruity curry, my boyfriend had madras curry with 5 peices of chicken and chips and I got to say the food was beautiful and really good price aswell. I Definitely would recommend this place.

Best chipshop in caerphilly! Fresh and great value. Would recommend you won't be disappointed.
