We live up on the coast of North Wales and also live in a tourist town like Borth. Our fish n chips are loads better and we can't help but think The Surrey is just taking advantage of a transient population - people just being there for a few days.

Greasy chips and thick thick batter on the fish which had soaked up loads of grease and made the whole meal quite displeasing.

The mushy peas were nice and the old guy who served me was really pleasant, polite and cheerful. A shame the fryer that night couldn't match the skills of the counter staff.

Friendly staff but very slow service and chip portions were the smallest I've ever seen, and with burgers at £4.50, this was not great value for money. The chips were delicious though, just wish there had been a decent amount.

Upon arrival, there was a fairly lengthy queue lined up at the side of the shop. Thinking the queue might be a sign of an epic meal that was upon us, we joined the line for the fried goodness.

45 minutes later (which felt like they’d gone to fetch the fish), we received our bag of said fried goodness. We hopped the steps with our plastic bag, only to discover a missing fried Cod 🤦🏻‍♂️.

After retrieving the MIA Cod, we sat down to eat our Saturday night treat with a nice view of the coast.

The Chips: Average, just your bog standard cash n carry chipper. Nothing to shout about.
The Cod: Well.. greasy! Properly greasy! Not sure if I’d suggest having one unless you’re sharing!

Curry Sauce and Onions Ring were good!

The girls worked hard to keep up with the orders, but could do with a little more assistance, especially on a Saturday night in the midst of the Holiday season.

Overall: Generally, a mildly average chip shop. And if I had the choice again, I’d consider alternatives.

Lovely food here. Two freshly cooked fish with nice clean chips. Nice friendly service, would highly recommend the Surrey chipshop in Borth. And a tray of yummy batter bits too.

The best fish and chips we have had for a long time. Huge portions and the fish and chips were perfect. We will be back. The staff were friendly and helpful too.

Uncooked batter, brown on outside but pancake, thick and raw on the inside. Chips were white and soggy and curry sauce was like water, I've never experienced such poor attempt at fish & chips at the seaside. Girl who served us was nice and earned the shop a star.

Superb Cod and Chips cooked to order for under a tenner, weekday 7.15pm. Don't be late. Good portions and quality products served with a smile.

Lovely fish and chips and friendly efficient service. Why the polystyrene containers inside of the chip paper though? I was sad to see these picked apart in bins by the birds and over the beach the next day. Seemed an unnecessary wrapping that caused litter and pollution. Chips and fish just need paper.
