Cwmbach Chippy

Popped in today for a couple of bits, never visited before. The gentleman that served me was one of the politest people I’ve met, and the food was lovely. Extra bonus points for traditional newspaper

Saw previous reviews and decided to try it myself. Ordered fish and chips x2 and was told it’ll take 3 minutes to prepare as it’s cooked fresh. Then i saw the yellow oily batter mix that came out and also noticed the dried up and cracked sausages and fish cakes on display which had very obviously been there quite some time. I called out to the server to cancel the order and left.
The whole place could go with a refurbishment and clean up.
Disappointing.

Best fish and chips. Fish cooked fresh while you wait and beautiful batter, chips are great. Staff are very friendly, always a smile. Well worth a visit

If I could give half a star I would , and that's just for being open £4.50 gor chips and jumbo sausage . The sausage was so hard it could of been used as a hammer it must of been in the warmer since yesterday as it was dried out almost through. And the chips oh my days brown and burnt as in black lines on them . I've honestly never ever seen anything like it in my life . And it was the owner who served my son . He wants to hang his head in shame serving that trash .

Without doubt the best chip shop I have ever been too. The chips are cooked properly and they have a lovely light brown colour and not the anaemic looking chips which seem to be everywhere. The batter is really crispy and well worth the visit if you are in the area.

Delicious fish and chips and my Dad said that they were the best he had tasted in a long time. The chips really did taste home cooked and the proprietor was very friendly.
