Family takeout- prices are high and potion size was ridiculous. A £3 portion was barely enough for a kid that’s not an exaggeration. It got 2 stars because the sausage did taste nice. Chips were even very nice.

Absolutely amazing! Freshly cooked to a brilliant standard. The daily deals are fantastic and portion size is better than most. Clean premises and friendly and helpful staff.

Stayed the weekend in porthcawl and tried Finnegan’s on Thursday. Cod and chips was delicious, tasted fresh and good portion size. We enjoyed it so much we went last night (Saturday) and bought the same again. The cod was COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. It was like a boiled solid piece of fish, no flakes at all and did not taste like cod. My partner phoned the shop and the staff member said the fish is cooked from frozen and he was sorry. Chips were nice like Thursdays but cod went in the bin.

I always enjoyed the 'fruity curry' served by the previous owners of this restaurant. My husband always loved the cod and chips. When we ate there yesterday we were very disappointed. The curry was more sauce than substance, it resembled a thin soup. The batter on the fish was cooked enough. We won't eat there again.

Staff extremely unfriendly. No communication like a hello when I walked in…..just silence from the three of them, which was quite intimidating and made me feel uncomfortable. What can I say about the food? It went in the bin. Pies were dry with lumps of mince, which was totally off-putting. The two different curry sauces I bought, which cost £4, resembled cement by the time I got them home (2 minutes away). Totally inedible. Will never go back here. Avoid if you can and go elsewhere.

Over priced shadow of what it was a few years ago, fish was over cooked and dry, chips were oily, price is now rediculous as another nearby chippy does bigger and better portions for over £6 less based on 2 fish 1chips meal, only went there as it was Monday and Francos was shut

Lovely place to eat. Food was extremely tasty and hot. Staff extremely friendly and helpful.
Only thing i would improve on is portions as didn't get much chips for a large.
